"ContentID abuse" is the best I'm able to find.
Though it has certain similarities to "swatting" or "joe-job" attacks, leveraging false reporting or false attribution to impose harms on others through defensive, protective, police, or legal mechanisms.

The linked channel proves how broken YouTube is: the guy shows just a map during the entire video and yet it has been hit and demonetized. The purpose clearly seems to silence the channel rather than asking for ransom, so I would assume there are Russian actors behind. Let's see how much time will take Google to address this flaw properly, assuming they will.

Imagine that Laos gets attacked by Thailand and bunch of nearby countries freak out and ask you to sacrifice a good chunk of your GDP to show you care.

If you seek the truth, you will find it. In fact, a majority of people in this world are on the side of the Russians, despite what you were led to believe. A good starting point is to listen to Professor John Mearsheimer.

1) "a majority of people in this world" don't give a fuck, factually speaking; 2) if they did, that still wouldn't be an independent reason to think that's correct--you may not have noticed, but most people are selfish, stupid, and ignorant; 3) "despite what you were led to believe." -- it was never a claim of anyone pro-Ukraine that the majority of people in the world are on their side. Nor should it be. The opinion of the majority does not determine what is right.

Why do you claim the "majority of people" support the genocide of Ukraine? What have Ukrainians done to more than 5 billion people to support wiping out of Ukraine?
If it was the majority, I shouldn't need to seek it, it would be out there to see.
> Why is Russia giving full citizenship to Ukrainians?
They want to annex Ukraine, of course they’re giving their citizenship. They do it in all occupied territories: DNR/LNR, Crimea, Abkhazia (90% took it), South Ossetia (95% took it).
> They want to annex Ukraine, of course they’re giving their citizenship. They do it in all occupied territories: DNR/LNR, Crimea, Abkhazia (90% took it), South Ossetia (95% took it).
South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not occupied territories. Russia doesn't have to give anyone full citizenship, they could boot them or treat them like second class citizens, and if 90+% take it then that should mean something. Those accepting citizenship probably understand the situation better than we do, and aren't doing it to self-genocide. For contrast look at what's going on in Nagorno-Karabakh right now.
That isn't even news. Two retold anecdotes does not make for truth. Where are the sources? Where are links to actual decrees or laws being passed? If blue and yellow were banned then why were Russian astronauts wearing them on their suits?

I'm sorry, but what you linked is just propaganda that you readily accepted because it reinforces your beliefs.
It's a horrible position to be forced to take a passport you don't want in order to survive - in your own home. It's an atrocious crime against humanity, and a blatant attempt to dilute those who aren't Russians into forced Russian citizens.
But if you want an even more evil attempt to destroy Ukraine national identity in occupied territory is what Russia is doing by forcing schools to teach a distorted event about the Russian invasion and indoctrinate children: https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/09/ukraine-russi...

That's some messed up argument you're making there - like all the Ukrainians had the same choice to be refugees in a given country.
Like poor people with no resources that got invaded by Russia had the time and resources to weight options and choose a better destination. It's disgusting what you're doing - you're literally washing genocide.
Let me guess, for you the +20.000 Ukrainian children kidnapped and filtrated by Russia are there to be kept safe from the war?
For almost 2 years they weren't returned to their guardians to be kept safe uh? A crime for which Putin is internationally wanted, and it's one of the crimes that constitutes genocide.
> Interesting 'genocide'.
I think you should look into what genocide is, and how Russia has done it in the past.

So it would be better to keep them in a war zone?

The ICC is a joke. It primarily prosecutes Africans, and the biggest countries don't even recognize it. In 2002 the US even passed the Hague Invasion Act which is a barely veiled threat against it prosecuting US citizens and citizens of allied countries. Nobody actually cites or uses the ICC unless it's for propaganda purposes.

Does this attack involve actual hacking, or is this yet another example of abuse of Youtube's poorly copyright protection system? For years now we've observed time and time again that it's trivial to abuse to censor content from real content producers.
Big Content loves to paint copyright violations as theft, but this abuse of copyright protection systems is the actual theft: the owner actually loses their content, and directly and provably loses the money they would have made on this content.

Social engineering remains a hack mode. And a highly effective one.
This is more a systems engineering hack (there's no social persuasion required). But it remains a means which achieves and ends, against the putative intent of the system itself.
Though it has certain similarities to "swatting" or "joe-job" attacks, leveraging false reporting or false attribution to impose harms on others through defensive, protective, police, or legal mechanisms.

Am I missing some part of history? Or it's just resentment towards the West, and Ukrainians genocide would be a "failure of the west"?
If it was the majority, I shouldn't need to seek it, it would be out there to see.
Interesting 'genocide'.
UN officials think Poland is the top destination: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_refugee_crisis_(2022...

They have even banned the colors of the Ukrainian flag: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/jun/5/russia-muzzl...
And according to this it's #1: https://data.unhcr.org/en/situations/ukraine
Regardless it's a top 2 refugee destination.

When Russia denies basic services to those who don't have Russian passports, it's either take it or become a second class citizen, like Russia did in Ukraine: https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-withholds-meds-ukrain...
