South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not occupied territories. Russia doesn't have to give anyone full citizenship, they could boot them or treat them like second class citizens, and if 90+% take it then that should mean something. Those accepting citizenship probably understand the situation better than we do, and aren't doing it to self-genocide. For contrast look at what's going on in Nagorno-Karabakh right now.

That isn't even news. Two retold anecdotes does not make for truth. Where are the sources? Where are links to actual decrees or laws being passed? It's a horrible position to be forced to take a passport you don't want in order to survive - in your own home. It's an atrocious crime against humanity, and a blatant attempt to dilute those who aren't Russians into forced Russian citizens.
