People should be careful, but yeah, the plinth was clear! Pretty hard to see. Especially to have situational awareness for where your foot might be going wrt to a clear thing, in a crowded social space where you're looking about. Probably it's just an accident, as galleries are experienced with displaying expensive works. But they probably should have had a larger perimeter, or the plint had a non-clear base.

I'm wondering, was she walking past? Or you know some women when they laugh, or angry, they involuntarily kick their feet. Cute, but kind of tragic if it was that. She must feel terrible.

This is absurd, and sexist, and though I don’t think you meant harm by it you might reconsider your model of how biological sex corresponds with voluntary control of one’s muscles.

What is so absurd, sexist, or harmful here?

Parent poster knows some women who kick their feet.

Are you calling them a liar? Who is hurt by the idea that some women somewhere have tick?

Are we now getting offended by any observations whatsoever, even if they aren't generalized to all women, or even negative?

I know somes posters on hacker news are both malicious and misleading.

It's not absurd, or sexist. It's just a fact. If you pretend that you can't make any generalizations or statements because of one's gender...or you even pretend that's negative. Then you're the one being sexist. It's just crazy this kind of over protected speech. You're totally reading the wrong thing into it. Haven't you ever observed this?

Nope. Couldn't find anything via Google, either. I thought you were making a Seinfeld joke, at first ("The Little Kicks"), but apparently not.

Never once. At best you're describing children, in my experience, not adult women.

But especially if it is an involuntary expression of anger, as you say, then advancing the sexist "You're Cute When You're Angry" trope[0] is not a great reaction.
