I wish we could ban any story with “in mice” in the headline.

Ever disease known to man has been cured 100x over in mice.

I started taking L. rhamnosus, just on a whim. The only noticeable effect was that it was easier to get up off the couch, in a literal way. No idea how that works.

There's already related human evidence where FMT between elite athletes to those chronically ill show remarkable improvement in strength and endurance.

Important to realize that things like probiotics cannot do this alone, they are not robust enough in diversity and don't colonize.

Microbiome is really the "next frontier" in medical science.

Yes, I think the next step should potentially be going towards cultured mixes of strains of bacteria that are known good that can be injected up in a solution, because while FMT can work really well, there seem to be some dangers to it depending on the donor.

Having cultured, tested mixes that could go through proper trials would potentially lower the risk quite a bit I think.

I’d like to see more microbiome studies related to stress, or how to just get your gut in gear (no gas, etc). Most of the things I find, though, are fluff pieces or anecdotal “evidence” of how taking supplement X had some kind of effect that might as well have been a placebo.
