WINE + DXVK can pretty much run any modern game (with varying performance).

It has potential, but when I want to unwind and fire up a game, the last thing I want to do is deal with the rigmarole of alpha software

yeah.... OpenGL is so far from Dx in terms of performance that it is laughable.
