Notice the end of the URL.

Fun.

Assuming the author created the url this isn't surprising. Jordan Crook is quite the personality.

SEO as in search engine optimization — they're including the words "apple small iphone" to try and raise their search engine rank.

Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by mercer on Tuesday March 22, 2016 @12:31PM (#11337733)
Does that actually have any effect? I recall reading that google doesn't really pay attention much to URL's (or meta keywords for that matter).
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by theGREENsuit on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:00PM (#11330164)
The techcrunch url ends with: 'iphone-se-apple-small-iphone-seo-is-fun'
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by stephenitis on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:02PM (#11330200)
is "fun in a "oh yeah... thats very cute apple" kinda way?
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by the-dude on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:05PM (#11330220)
No, more like "you are burning karma fast" kinda way.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by stephenitis on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:11PM (#11330283)
I didn't read the "-seo-" part of the url. my eyes just glossed over and saw fun at the end.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by Laaw on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:21PM (#11330387)
It's okay, don't worry about karma. Some people are obsessed over it.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by santaclaus on Monday March 21, 2016 @01:43PM (#11329995)
The article doesn't mention 3D touch -- is that out of the picture for the SE?
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by Jgrubb on Monday March 21, 2016 @01:52PM (#11330092)
Sorry but - from the article

"""

No 3D Touch

Sources told 9to5Mac that the reason behind this is that the front-facing flash requires the new display tech we’ve seen on the iPhone 6s, which brings us to 3D touch.

The flagship feature on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which offers deeper interaction with various applications on the iPhone through hard taps and long taps, will not be present on the iPhone SE.

Not an iOS user: This phone looks interesting to me - how pervasive is 3d touch? Am I missing out on something by getting a phone missing this feature?
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by dep_b on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:08PM (#11330246)
I am getting used to it as in I've learned now not to press my phone too hard anymore to accidentally trigger it. Most apps replace it by a long press leaving only the force press home screen menus as the thing you'll miss out on.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by masklinn on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:13PM (#11330300)
> how pervasive is 3d touch?

Not very. It's mostly a few shortcuts, the only genuine feature is that you can force-touch the keyboard to get a sort of trackpad surface (for more precise cursor movement in text)

Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by ino on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:10PM (#11330270)
I use it mostly to control the cursor when I'm writing text, and seldom to peek/pop emails.

But now when have to write text on a phone without it, I notice immediately, it's mildly frustrating.

Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by janfoeh on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:15PM (#11330328)
I use it mostly for app switching (force-press on the left screen edge) and cursor movement (force-press on keyboards).
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by artimaeis on Monday March 21, 2016 @01:44PM (#11330008)
From what I can tell from watching the event it appears they did not include 3D touch on the SE.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by usaphp on Monday March 21, 2016 @01:53PM (#11330098)
They showed live photos, which requires 3D touch to activate, so I guess it does pack a 3D touch.
Re:Apple introduces the iPhone SE by kylec on Monday March 21, 2016 @02:17PM (#11330344)
No, you can also activate by tapping and holding. You can test this by sending a live photo to an iPhone 6 or below.

There's plenty of them on the market.
