> uniform rule of law, respect for individual civil & property rights, free markets
These values are not specific to western democratic systems. For example, under Islamic Law (Shari'ah), the aforementioned apply as well.
And since when was Churchill an expert at this topic?
Are you able to share which domain your company works in?
> My point is that many Arab men wont have a single meaningful interaction with a woman outside their family this year
And you got this information from where, western media? Even if, how is it a negative thing?
> Presenting women as sex objects to those men isn't going to have great effects
Incidentally, western liberal capitalistic systems are the ones presenting women as sex objects in ads and the like. Where as they are preserved in the conservative culture in Islamic countries.
Who gave you the right to decide that Egypt needs turning upside down? It seems that some people in the west cannot leave the rest of the world alone without trying to impose their values (which the rest of the world looks down upon) on others.
Subjectively, porn has been shown to cause lots of dangerous effects.
There's a reason all of those + gambling are prohibited in Islam.
Java's approach to async is virtual threads. Extension methods are being explored through typeclasses. Solutions for nullability are also proposed, and in the mean time, you can use JSpecify. If by primitive types you mean value classes, they are going into preview in the upcoming JDK.
Are they going to include the bombing of the Iranian school?
Kotlin does not have inline destructuring in pattern matching.
I don't think Kotlin has fully fledged pattern matching with destructuring yet (like in Java's records) does it?
What sort of domain are you in? And what are you moving to?
Incidentally, Java seems faster on the server side than Rust in several benchmarks I've seen and tried locally - yes to be taken with a grain of salt, but point being that Rust is not the be-all performance aspiration - there are some really good Java One 26 and Devoxx 26 talks pertaining to the importance of well spec'd languages like Java and runtimes like the JVM in the age of AI. And this is without talking about things like monitoring and observability.
There never was sense to begin with
There needs to be more than just articles.
I wonder what happened in 1948. And I'm sure you know of the israeli false flags that took place in the 50's in Arab countries to push migration to the entity.
We keep repeating that Gaza has exposed the facade of "human/women's/children's rights" that america loves to tout. Many of us knew it for a long time, but some people actually believed the nonsense that was spewed. Now, the masks have now fallen, and people are waking up.
What gives you the right to dictate how other nations run their affairs? Western secular imperialism alive and well I see.
Your Islamophobia is showing. Not to mention falling for the well known correlation is not causation fallacy, and that I actually explained one of the main causes (post WWI western colonialism that continues to this day). Not to mention even in such dire situations, many advancements have been made. Again, let's not parrot meaningless phrases like "human rights" and "women's rights" that are nothing but a facade.
As I pointed out, I corrected many mistakes in wikipedia. It is not a primary source.
Repeat after me: correlation is not causation. Islamophobes selectively ignore when the Islamic Caliphate was at the top of prosperity and advancements across all fields in the world.
> This has become beyond ridiculous
It always was, but things are now coming to light because their war crimes are being broadcast live for everyone to see from first person point of view.
Thank you for siding with the right side of history.
The word "Shariah" just means "Law", so "Shariah Law" means "Law Law". I say this because western media has been pushing this "Shariah Law" is bad and scary narrative, but when you actually look at it, the penal code part of Shariah is but a tiny aspect of a holistic system, and every functioning system needs a penal law.
I will also repeat that neither one of us has the entire picture of what happened, posting snippets from random articles does not change that.
There is no "Islamic hypocrisy". Muslims leave their countries because they have been occupied and/or meddled with, peaking since post WWI colonization, and continuing to this day. Also, as long as one is able to practice his religion freely, he is allowed to travel. Scholars have repeatedly said that if someone fears that he is not able to practice freely where in the non-Muslim country he resides, it becomes prohibited for him to continue to live there.
And are you comparing traveling for livelihood with state sponsored terrorism and genocide that the USA, Europe, and Israel did and are doing, then hide behind the "human rights" facade?
Posting random wikipedia articles (non-primary sources) isn't really helping here. I fixed so many errors in Islam related wikipedia articles before, and the ones you posted have such errors.
I can also just as easily post random ones about secular and western terrorism.
Hopefully that will change soon.
And your name is not Mahmud
It's way beyond a single politician, and it's way beyond corruption. Several of their politicians are on file calling for outright genocide and displacement. Let's not forget that Pew poll that showed that 34% of israelis say that the IDF "did not go far enough" in what they did in Gaza.
I'm not defending terrorism/barbarism/extremism. Let's stop throwing around words pretending to get outraged at something we don't know the entire story about. We've seen the facade of the west pretending to care about "human rights" and "women's rights" fall so quickly. That's what speaks volumes. My points hold.
Nope, you don't set the rules. We also defend our religion against Islamophobes spreading incorrect information or FUD. Freedom of speech eh? Or is it rules for thee but not for me?
You don't get to tell me what to do.
One would think it's important to follow the law of the land, right? We'll see what comes out of this incident once the law runs its course.
Did you decide he was innocent? Fact is, neither one of us has the full story, let alone knowing whether or not the court decision was in-line with Islamic tenants (it may have, or it may not have). But some people just seem to want to jump to conclusions and get outraged.
I won't respond to someone who couldn't understand what I wrote and is clearly anti-Islam.
Did you read what I wrote?
