Re:Agent Context Graph on Sunday January 25, 2026 @02:46AM (#46751716)
Abstract Agent Type System with Context Graphs, DIDs/VCs, Causality, and Provenance

A comprehensive framework for defining agent behavioral contracts (Abstract Agent Types) and managing their runtime interactions through Context Graphs, with full support for decentralized identity, verifiable credentials, causal reasoning, and provenance tracking.

"analyze this for hidden underlying structure or emergent properties"

electrons don’t, electricity does .
with property graphs, as compared to RDF, wouldnt the internals of nodes (properties) not be considered actually a part of the graph itself (or atleast not first class)?

why being downvoted?

Parallels to Restful API, Hypermedia as the Engine of Application State ...
im asking because of the medieval warm period and subsequent little ice age which occurred prior to the more recent big uptrend
Yes one of the graphs is from back then, so then I’ll ask again since 650 is not 1354 …
what do you mean by a similar graph if the original post only goes back to 1950 but japans goes back to 600?
I'm confused by your use of "fractal", could you expand a little bit on how your using that word in context here?
Re:Consciousness is not computation on Monday June 20, 2022 @10:15AM (#31810603)
How does the article and the HN comments not mention Stephen Wolfram and his Physics Project … ?
Re:Entity Resolution: The most common data science challenge on Wednesday June 01, 2022 @10:27PM (#31590591)
this doesn't make any sense though, your write up starts with an assumption that multiple records in the dataset are "obviously" the same entity ... so we wouldn't even need entity resolution then ...

"entity resolution" as a process should moreso imply how to determine whether two records that aren't obviously the same entity are actually the same entity ... and how you would go about discovering and proving and declaring that ...

Re:What caused all the supply chain bottlenecks? on Monday November 01, 2021 @01:25AM (#29063259)
what you describe is still an actual supply chain issue though, you are merely elaborating on a possible cause for particular supply chain issues .
we can’t conflate nor confuse the interrogatives (who for what for when for where for why for how) ...

things being talked about are merely distinct, and certainly not interchangeable either / ors .

well technically then it shouldn’t be assumed one way or the other, so your comment also shouldnt imply one way or the other ... right ?

the reality most humans “scientifically” should assume is that “governments” or “public institutions” aren’t people ...

and that means something ...

Re:Git is already federated and decentralized on Friday September 28, 2018 @09:19PM (#18098190)
I think the ActivityPub related work is moreso related to the GitHub experience, and less so Git itself ... ?
Re:Git is already federated and decentralized on Friday September 28, 2018 @09:18PM (#18098183)
Git is “already federated and decentralized” (depending on emergent semiotics), but GitHub is NOT.

Re:Build Better GraphQL APIs: Thinking in Graphs on Friday December 01, 2017 @02:51AM (#15822582)
Hypermedia (HATEOAS, REST, etc) is graph thinking as well. “endpoints” is not synonymous with “REST”, it is merely an address (likely paired with an expectation (or affordance).

Would love to see similar for corporate side of learning and development, rather than just academic side.
Re:A Simple AI Capable of Basic Reading Comprehension on Friday September 18, 2015 @06:56PM (#10242499)
there is a linguistic research called "usage based" and also "emergent grammar" that i find interesting regarding subjects like this:

1. meaning is usage. 2. structure emerges from usage.

meaning we don't use grammar to produce language, it is an emergent property (irreducible) of "pre-linguistic pragmatics" ...

Re:A Simple AI Capable of Basic Reading Comprehension on Friday September 18, 2015 @06:27PM (#10242408)
this post and many of the comments here don't necessarily have a "semiotic" or "usage-based language acquisition" or "emergent-grammar" nature about them ...

which is fine ... just different results ...

specifically:

1. meaning is usage. 2. structure emerges from usage.

this post and many of the comments have a world view akin to:

1. meaning is structure. 2. usage emerges from structure.

what i mean by this is that the "analysis" of the text doesn't exist in the same "world" as the text.

meaning that its nothing like "real" (natural) language.

what i mean further by this is simple:

humans don't "use" natural language... it is an emergent property of other systems of externalized behaviors and such by individual humans.

and such emergent properties and systems are also evident in any development of this actual system and many of the comments here.

producing the comprehension introduces in-comprehensible things ... or at best just divorces systems (discontinuous) ... at which point any thing can be any thing, so debating it as such here doesn't even matter (value) .

im not exactly sure what im saying here but it is akin to:

1. nthorder cybernetics (mostly like 3rd and 4th and such) 2. autopoesis (humberto maturana and francisco valera)

im going through the same type of analysis regarding "activity stream" type APIs which use an "actor verb object" type form ... (usage from structure) ...

Re:Ask HN: My school needs a data storage solution on Friday September 18, 2015 @05:11PM (#10242083)
for an open spec meant for your specific use case, check out "Tin Can API" / "Experience API" / "xAPI":

http://tincanapi.com/overview/

specifically the idea of the "Learning Record Store".

it is the new open standard for learning, training, and experience, etc... backed by the DoD and ADL to replace SCORM (previous standard used by things like Blackboard and MOODLE and LMSs 'learning management systems').

let me know if you have any questions, i work and research in this space.

There was another concept back in early 2000s called "interactive journalism" and "interactive visual explainer":

This is an interesting variation of a semiotic commutation test, although while not honoring emergent grammar (Paul hopper) as much as I do.
Re:Macaw V1 Released on Monday March 31, 2014 @09:06PM (#7505533)
I preordered Macaw and intend on trying it out... I also own and use Adobe Edge Animate and Sublime Text, etc...

Can someone offer a distinction between tooling such as Text Editors, such as Macaw, such as Dreamweaver, such as Edge Animate that actually makes sense per people's arguments and each company's prospective use cases?

Many people are arguing that Macaw would be great for prototyping but that the code generated is not production ready, but I would argue that Adobe Edge Animate by that logic would offer an even better prototyping environment, but have not heard people go gaga over it for such purpose like they have Macaw.

If people do argue that code generated by Macaw is production ready (in some form), then why would Adobe Edge Animate not also be production ready... for same purpose?

Re:Show HN: A visual HTML5 animation editor in your browser on Saturday March 08, 2014 @03:53PM (#7366359)
great find for me! i am in design/dev for the learning and development industry, so naturally many teams have strong backgrounds in Flash, and lately Adobe Edge Animate and Tumult Hype (even Google has thrown something into the ring). Literally the only thing I did to determine whether I would investigate Animatron further was opening it up and dropping some audio into the project, and seeing whether the waveform shows up on the timeline layer. This is a MUST regarding WYSIWYG sync of animation to audio... its what Flash IDE had that Edge and Hype still do not! The next thing is determining the workflow for integrating with eLearning standards such as SCORM and TinCanAPI / Experience API... naturally this is the type of product I would also pay premium to integrate further into my team and client's workflow for Instructional Design, etc...
