I'd like to think that most people who become wealthy enough to have the option of retiring early are motivated by something other than money.
Re:US IT Wages set to Stagnate. Thank the Senate

Surely having a concentration of world wide IT talent in the US is a good thing? Even aside from that, I would have thought protectionism is not something that will help the IT industry in any shape or form.

I've been using PyCharm for 2 years now and I love it. I am thinking of buying WebStorm, as the web app I work on has gotten a lot more JS heavy.
Would I be better off getting IntelliJ and getting plugins for it, or having PyCharm and WebStorm separately? This has an impact down the road when I have to renew licences!

I block:
w3schools.com, I think it's fairly well publicised why these guys aren't a good resource.
about.com, I dont like getting my results from content farms, and these guys seem to show up for almost everything.
Ask HN: What sites do you block from your search results?
The web is filled with content farms that tailor their content purely for SEO and advertising. What sites do you block from your results and why?

Your argument applies to almost any electronic product - including the one you're typing this message on. There is of course some environmental impact associated with purchasing and eventually disposing of electronic good. If they are disposed of properly however, they don't end up on beaches in Hawaii.

Solution to mail.app problem: either make the middle column bigger, or don't use it in full screen.
