I love the new sidebar + vertical tabs, although it does not seem to be available to everybody: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/sidebar-and-verti...
Re:Ask HN: What's the best documentation site you've come across? on Saturday September 14, 2024 @08:55AM (#41539524)
My only gripe with the Stripe docs is that it can be slow to load / render. But the content and presentation is very good.

I love the Arch Wiki, when switching between distros I often end up looking at the Pacman/Rosetta [0], which "display the correspondence of package management commands".

Re:Modifying the OG Xbox to have 256M of RAM [video] on Monday July 08, 2024 @05:43PM (#40910051)
I remember buying Skyrim VR, only for it to be unplayable without modding because the physics is tied to the FPS and anything above 60 Hz would send objects flying everywhere (including the carriage in the intro sequence).
Re:GNU Stow needs a co-maintainer on Monday April 08, 2024 @09:22PM (#39975444)
Looks great! Seems like GNU Stow inspired many devs, especially around the dotfiles use case

A few years ago I read a blog post [0] on using GNU Stow to manage your dotfiles, I loved the idea and it inspired me to create xdot, a minimalist dotfiles manager [1] which I have been using ever since.

Re:Biome 1.5: fast Prettier and ESLint alternative on Monday January 08, 2024 @10:40AM (#38913525)
I've been using biome/rome for over a year and it's getting pretty good. The rebranding looks great !

I can't wait for HTML support :)

Edit: I would love to see an equivalent to ESLint's no-floating-promises, but I believe this is blocked since the linter is not type aware (yet?).

Re:Last Call to Migrate Mojang Accounts on Monday May 08, 2023 @04:31PM (#35866673)
I bought the game in 2011 (iirc), I guess they could justify this with the "Other" section of the terms of use [1]:

"We reserve the right to change this agreement at any time with or without notice, with immediate and/or retroactive effect."

No idea if this is enforceable in the US/EU.

Isn't it what `prefers-color-scheme` [0] is for ?

I can also recommend "Children of time", it's a really good sci-fi book. There's a sequel called "Children of Ruin", but I can't comment on it as I haven't finished reading it.

Re:What Does My Site Cost? on Wednesday July 07, 2021 @07:41AM (#27759920)
I think I have the same plan as you (Free 10G-EPON + 5G ?), I've seen lots of posts about broadband / mobile subscription and while prices do seems a bit higher than in Europe what shocks me the most is data caps on home internet.
Hi from Brittany !

Our flag was inspired by the US star spangled banner around 100 years ago. There's a running joke that wherever there's a demonstration you'll be able to see someone fly the Gwenn-ha-du.

Check the wikipedia page [0], it's quite interesting.

The page HTML is weird, there's no `<html>`, `<head>` or `<body>`.
Re:Cox Hotspots with Panoramic Wifi on Saturday May 15, 2021 @03:05PM (#27167939)
NB: You can turn off the hotspot but you'll lose the ability to use others subscribers hotspot, and unlike some ISPs (according to this thread) they won't turn it back on.
Re:Open source Heroku Like Platform on premises on Friday March 26, 2021 @08:17AM (#26591156)
I investigated a little bit and it was a problem with certificates, the internal error message was "could not resolve kube integration (x509)". I was using a single-node k8s cluster hosted on Digital Ocean that I created myself.

I'm a beginner when it comes to k8s so I ended up just provisioning from the dashboard, everything's working now :)

Re:Open source Heroku Like Platform on premises on Friday March 26, 2021 @06:29AM (#26590486)
Looks great, However I'm getting an error while setting up:

  $ porter connect kubeconfig
Error: code 500, errors [could not write to database]
