You know who really needs to do this? BMW.

First thing it told me when I was setting up the customization area was something around ...if you enable BMW account sync, this car will transmit all audio, video and any other data recorded to BMW for its use blah blah...

Ugh

K someone make this into a spotify playlist please thx!
Re:HackerTube: YouTube built from videos recommended by HN on Sunday November 01, 2026 @12:48AM (#50322795)
Andrej this is pretty awesome. Encompasses the need for all of us devs (junior through leads) to continue learning, while embodying what our current reality looks like in the development of the site itself.

Will say tho, your videos themselves have been the biggest help so far, so I would rather see more of those in the future. But I'll take this as a consolation :)

Primeagen went over this in the last episode or two - apparently this sort of defense is costing ... one of the big models or companies hosting them ... $900k/day or something to constantly run the best model and monitor 24/7 to combat the attacks [0]

Yeah agreed. I actually only noticed because my two boxes are super slow and I've been troubleshooting for about an hour. Finally opened up the Customer Support page and this was the top incident.

Re:StackOverflow now gets fewer than 1000 questions a month on Thursday October 29, 2026 @12:04AM (#50284424)
This might be the saddest, non-family related thing ive seen in years.

I love you stack exchange and all related sites.

All yall need to keep learning

I 100% see the potential here and am dying to see it in 30 days

Or maybe ill join your discord and hopefully we can riff it out to get there faster

Low key privacy violated

All privacy is just extra layers from the public. They want to remove all those layers (which in this case is just the barrier to entry of writing API calls)

Why tho

Dont even care anymore. Its an AI discovery.

If it's human, at this point, we will see it in the title

Re:Show HN: Qwen3-4B with the AI writing tics trained out on Monday October 19, 2026 @11:56AM (#50153973)
This is cool. I would like to try using this model with Qwen3.8 or Gemma4 as a speculative decoding model. Wonder if that would help give the overall results with the higher quality output
Re:Parser Combinators on Sunday October 18, 2026 @06:50AM (#50139879)
Did you use the new Claude Motion for this?
I really wanted her to spoil this movie somewhere in this article.
Anyone else getting a 403 trying to open the page? Like...after cloudflare confirmed humanity n stuff
Ooo i musta missed this in the last email

Will look for it thanks! Good call out :)

I love everything about this launch post. They feel like people i would get along with.

And i already sub to jev and i think this launch is going to make me a much more loyal user now lol

> We’ve heard you loud and clear on context lengths. Jev actually supports a much longer context length than we’ve enabled in production. We chose to limit it intentionally because Jev, like all models, is less reliable on longer contexts, and this constraint encourages more effective usage patterns in prod.

> We aren’t your parents though, so while we strongly recommend limiting context length, you no longer have to:

I had to check twice that this wasn't an Onion article.

Why are these fridges on a network? Feels like an easy fix to me but maybe I'm missing something? Unplug?

This is what openai needs to be spending their compute on. Screw the stolen math proofs. Help me sleep better
Re:Uber arbitration award over Emily Normandin-Parker's death on Monday September 21, 2026 @12:10PM (#49789145)
This is what happens when every single company we have an app for forces us to re-agree to new TOC (most this year, but last year too).

Go check your e-mail - look at all the TOC agreements you had to make recently. How many added a new (or amended an existing) arbitration clause?

Too many. And consumers are stuck either agreeing blindly/under duress, or uninstalling the app? These are apps we use and rely on, and don't have enough competition to refuse.

Lyft and Uber. Name one other competitor in the app space. Without googling it

Rant over (it wasn't even a rant at the beginning but couldn't help myself)

Re:Minimal Phone 2 on Friday September 18, 2026 @04:06PM (#49759517)
looks like just what I need

But the site is crazy slow, like it's coin mining in the browser lol

I'm sure that's not what's happening, just noteworthy-ly poor performance

Re:deSEC – Free Secure DNS on Friday September 04, 2026 @04:25PM (#49569816)
Is this somehow related to the other post about another service shutting down its encrypted DNS?

Weird timing?

Re:OpenAI begins rolling out GPT-6 Astra on Thursday September 03, 2026 @03:02PM (#49555001)
Jesus what are you doing that requires Sol usage so often?

Terra not enough? I know Luna isn't reliable, so that's fair.

Genuinely curious though, because I use Cursor daily and almost everything I do, highly complex or high volume, can be handled with Auto mode or Composer 2.5 (or Grok 4.6 High). So I have to assume you're doing something far more complex than what I am

Re:OpenAI begins rolling out GPT-6 Astra on Thursday September 03, 2026 @02:51PM (#49554834)
Would you mind posting that code to github? I'm curious about the complexity you're describing.

If not, no worries!

Re:.name Termination on Thursday September 03, 2026 @01:32PM (#49553642)
Dude, this is one of the craziest things I think I've read on HN

First, that a legit dealer could/did(does?) sell third-level domains at all (Verisign, no less) Second, that the top-level is staying available, allowing for second-levels to be bought/sniped like you mention.

If you do lawyer up and need help with legal fees, I think this would be a worthy cause.

Patent Pending?

Any patent attorneys here know what exactly about this is "patent-able"?
