she's the real mvp!
tell me, is ignorance as blissful as they say it is?
Yep, pretty disappointed with our current government, they're not listening at all to the population, just lobbyists and those with $10k for a dinner with the PM. And ON is certainly not the solution either, despite many thinking it is.
Re:Netanyahu Received an Explicit Warning Days Before Oct. 7 on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @05:02AM (#49607614)
I also question how could they not have known anything, seeing as they were recording ALL calls and messages within Palestine in the year leading up to oct 7, which was revealed when MS/Azure were found to be storing the data for it all.
Re:User Interfaces of the Demo Scene on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @02:24AM (#49094022)
Oh wow, great read! I was an amiga demo scene coder down here in Australia, spent many long nights in asm-one :)

I had no idea there were tools for pre-calc lookup tables back then! Instead I just generated my own from code as I assumed everyone else was :D

Using pre-calc sine tables freed up so many clock cycles.

Big shout to all the sceners on here! I really do miss coding 68k asm sigh :)

i bought this tshirt in tokyo (goes to uniqlo tokyo despite having uniqlo at home), i also thought it looked like malware so i bought it :D

happy to see that the base64 was valid and did something cool! ^_^

India is playing a dangerous game imo
Re:SCiZE's Classic Warez Collection on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @09:24AM (#46512625)
man, those were the days! I was a coder for an amiga crew in australia, we had a heap of bbs's going and we'd phreak calls to scene BBS's in europe, usa & eastern aus. Amazing what mischief we'd get up to with a usrobotics hst modem ha :D
Re:<5KB demoscene intro by Claude on Tuesday November 25, 2025 @11:32PM (#46054221)
Ex-(amiga)demo scener here.. greetings! And you're spot on. Coding assembler and pushing the machine to the limits was an artform in itself.

I see it using Math.sin() calls - what a luxury lol! On the amiga if using substantial 3d calculations and wanting to maintain full frame rate, you'd populate a sine lookup table (typically as the demo is starting) for quicker sine calculations.

The good ole days/nights spent hacking away with 68k assembler on a 7mhz processor.. I miss them :)

Yep, this is best approach imo.
Re:The demo scene is dying, but that's alright on Sunday September 07, 2025 @11:13PM (#45164345)
Much love for the demo scene, where it all began for me, pulling all nighters as a teenager writing 68k assembler in asmone on the amiga.. phreaking calls to euro BBS, writing trainers and intro for games, scanning 1800 numbers for diverters/PBX systems to exploit, pulling all your best assembler graphics routines together for your crew's newest demo for release at all-weekend demo/LAN parties.. normal teenage activities, right?! :D
Nice, this turned out pretty well! :)
are we really linking fox news from hacker news? hacker news is better than this.
