The bottom of the article has multiple links. Curious what you would recommend instead while not spamming the article?
I am working on GitMonitor which is a tool for developers to watch over their GitHub repositories, and setup custom rules. Like "No merging pull requests without an LGTM" or "No force-pushing to any of these branches: "

It has worked well in my experience when junior and even mid-level developers join a team, helping expose them not only to git best practices, but to the custom rules of their development team as well.

Considering that painting set a record for the amount it sold for, I'd say you haven't.
Re:The Elephant in Apple’s iCloud on Saturday October 15, 2011 @01:02PM (#3115178)
Seriously? No reason? They can build iPhones and iPads and grow their company to a multi billion dollar company, but they can't figure out how to update their homepage without shutting it down? Of course it's a marketing trick.
I would love to be a part of something like that, but I don't know of anywhere currently. If you want to get away from "new" entrepreneur, why not built a site called entrepreolder.

See: WeedMaps.com, mmjmenu.com, StickyGuide.com, Leafly.com. Monetization != Ads. If you have clients in states that MMJ is legal, then I guess you have a business.

Re:Ask HN: How to approach a potential buyout offer on Tuesday February 08, 2011 @12:23AM (#2192065)
I tend to be the same way, which is why were will be signing an NDA before either side talks specifics about anything.
Re:Ask HN: How to approach a potential buyout offer on Monday February 07, 2011 @11:41PM (#2191960)
Thanks. We might be interested in selling if everything pans out. But I'm more interested in how to handle our first contact with this company.

Ask HN: How to approach a potential buyout offer

Fellow HackersI've been running a startup for over a year now, and we've been growing a lot in the last few months. While there has been some interest in our business, we were approached by a group expressing interest in buying us out. The extent of the communication thus far is their initial email expressing interest. While I do have a lot of startup experience, selling a startup is new to me....

Re:Ask HN: Free trial vs money back guarantee on Tuesday October 19, 2010 @04:03PM (#1808504)
Free trial.

If I'm interested and there's a free trial, I'll always sign up.

If I'm interested and I have to give a credit card to try it, even if there's a money back guarantee, I usually look at other options.

Re:Ask HN: How accurate is Google Adword's Traffic Estimator? on Thursday September 17, 2009 @11:07AM (#828122)
I've found that most of the time, the Google Traffic Estimate usually OVERESTIMATES how much traffic each keyword get. For example, I have the #2 google spot for a food keyword. I get about 1,500 visitors a month from Google for that keyword, but the traffic estimate tool estimates "74,000" searches for that keyword a month. So if 74,000 is really accurate, only 1,500 are clicking the second result

Re:Ask HN: What do you drink? on Monday July 27, 2009 @07:46PM (#727043)
mixed with a little bit of 100% fruit juice
I'd say find a creative outlet, if that's hacking then so be it, but if it's writing or painting or just drawing for a couple of hours it can help to get things off your chest and clear your mind. That way when you're ready to work your mind won't be as distracted with these other problems.
Re:Poll: What OS do you use everyday, or most often? on Saturday July 04, 2009 @01:22PM (#687302)
You should make a poll about it
Re:Ask HN: how to monetize email list? on Monday May 25, 2009 @10:35PM (#626150)
I'm not mail list expert but I have a couple decent sized lists, and I usually use them to promote products I'm selling, or cross-promote some of my other websites. I've tried putting affiliate links at the end of the emails but that hasn't been very successful so far.
Re:Poll: How many HN readers are working on a Startup? on Sunday May 17, 2009 @11:37PM (#614336)
I've working on my 4th startup, hopefully this one will pan out better than the rest :P
Re:Tell HN: Hacker News is almost reddit on Thursday May 14, 2009 @12:26PM (#609058)
And the cycle continues. Diggeres move to reddit and complain about digg all day. Redditors move to Hacker News and complain about Reddit all day. You will all be bitching about HN as soon as you find another home, I'm sure.
