Using open-source as your backend you have a few options to own your own data for search. In this example Appwrite is used and then events from updates are pushed into Meilisearch. Creating a fully open-source solution for Baas and Search.

Just one side note here you could also just use SSG, and never need to hit a server unless you rebuild the page in some fashion
