Ask HN: Can my co-founder be a non-US citizen?

Does anyone have any experience starting a company with a co-founder that isn't from the US? For context, I am from the US, but I'm curious how it might work if my co-founder was from outside of the states and not currently here on a visa.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should structure compensation related to a side project I have that makes money?- I am not incorporated yet. - I do not have immediate plans to raise for it, my main project is something else. - It's profitable, but not really profitable enough to just hire someone. - While it makes more money than it costs, it is not really a significant amount...

This is more of a meta-point but it's always surprising to me when reading about older civilizations like Rome how alike the daily lives and problems were for people thousands of years ago.

Some things that won't change– and probably have never changed:

• People will continue to want to have fun

• People will continue to want more ways to make money

• People will continue to want things to be faster

• People will continue to want great tales of adventure

Ask HN: When working on a side project with a collaborator, do you incorporate?

I'm about to start a side project with a collaborator I haven't worked with before and we expect it to generate a small amount of revenue. I'm thinking of incorporating as an LLC once we're done building to protect us both.In past projects that didn't involve money this didn't seem necessary. Has anyone else done this for their side projects? What about bank accounts?
