Every time I start the discord app, it downloads updates. It was never the case when I opened discord app and it didn't start updating. Updating 7/13. Updating 1/4. There is always some update pushed, I think almost every day. Comparing the launch times of fully updated clients is kinda useless, as it will always take few minutes to update anyway when you are cold-starting it. Slow electron apps are just a skill issue. Yes it has a browser overhead, and it will use a bit more RAM, but the bare-minimum time required to spin up the underlying Chromium shell and Nodejs runtime environment is 100-300ms, everything on top of it is just application overhead aka skill issue.
