Matt had a golden goose and he decided it wasn't golden enough.

I removed/converted my last Wordpress site (commercial and otherwise) last month.

I wonder sometimes what is going on over there. WordPress had a great community , nice people, seemingly successful open source with a business attached. Maybe it wasn't enough? I know talking to some of the shops that use it that their clients were asking about this turn of events.

If you have an infrastructure, stability is a good selling point.

I’m not in the Wordpress world so everything here is speculation.

Only because some clients asked about it a couple of months, it doesn’t necessarily mean much. There are common questions for all technologies, it doesn’t mean people don’t still choose them. I’m assuming the Wordpress ecosystem is mature and for some problems, it’s a great if not the best tool. Not everyone is deep into “tech drama”, so the clients might have registered that there was some shenanigans going on, they spent probably about 10 seconds thinking about that.

We like to pretend that we don’t accept bad behavior (eye of the beholder), but many of us do. I know I dislike many CEOs and companies, but in the end it’s just one item in my mental pros and cons list.

Even with Boeing, I’ll take a different flight when a comparable option is available, but if the Boeing option is half the price and twice as fast, I’ll take the Boeing.
