Your argument essentially amounts to "why are poor people poor when they can just get a job." I can't find anything to say about it that isn't snarky.

I get that being poor can make it difficult to pay for rent, satisfy medical bills, escape toxic conditions, etc, but health insurance is more than easily attainable for the poor, preventative cleanings are free with that insurance, and they give free toothpaste out during those cleanings.
