Two different companies.
The Santa Cruz Operation Inc (the original SCO) sold its UNIX assets
to Caldera around 2001, and pivoted to VDI (the product now called Oracle Secure Global Desktop). It renamed itself to Tarantella before being acquired by Sun, and in turn Oracle.
Caldera subsequently renamed itself to The SCO Group, and then commenced the shakedown that made McBride infamous.
