People that spend time talking about the "ZIRP era" make me think they found a phrase to make themselves feel clever rather than actually say anything of substance.

I didn't notice any data backing up one of the specific post-ZIRP claims made here - that everything is aligning along Typescript and Python lines. Similarly I don't see how using more expensive platforms on top of AWS/GCP is something that correlates with "belt tightening" - if anything, you'd see people just going back to managing a handful of raw VMs or managing their own data centers.

Does anyone else just assume that anything with a lot of bulleted lists is probably LLM slop these days?

That's probably a safe assumption since the previous article on this blog is "Save time generating code with ChatGPT."

What are they talking about here? I feel like UI is significantly worse post-ZIRP. Look at what a mess Twitter/X has turned into. I also see a lot more UI bugs on various IOS apps (Reddit being the major one).

The complexity of the website showing this article is kinda comical. It’s not just the text but all these unnecessary and distracting animations. Maybe it’s a bit of satire? I haven’t read anything else here that I’m aware of.
