No, workers in Germany already have the right to work less hours in return for less pay.

The idea is to lower the default weekly working hours while keeping the same salary. If productivity slowly goes up over time, it should be possible.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I've been dismissing these articles as old news as "of course you can do it for a smaller salary".
