It is. Leaving China aside. Once tiktok 'segments' you to a region, the experience is totally different and unchangeable even if you move around.

I’m my experience, if you turn on a VPN with a different region, you’ll start getting that type of content.

funny thing is when you have a different OS language than your location, then you basically get both. But it's quite difficult to become entrenched into another (in this case a third) region/language.

geolocking is not a globalization problem, it's a solution to globalization. It's not different from DVD region locking.
