All positions are flooded with great resumes: FB,twitter,AMZN,etc. Sure there are 100k laid off (in your example), but, the more competitive people (not laid off yet) are starting to flood the market with resumes as well. This group (not laid off yet) at FAANG are starting to panic and push resumes around - they are worried about being forced into the office or being included in the next lay off round. So 500k? resumes are floating around right now. Remote positions have turned into knife fights. This will takes YEARS to get through. I plan to be unemployed for years.
I have interviewed hundreds of developers over the years. I have seen 1? facebook resumes. They are fought over usually. Now 11k of these on the market? God help us.
These are mostly recruiters and biz people being laid off, from all of those companies. Maybe stop spewing panic infused ignorance.

The submission itself is such a link. Did you even read it, or just dive straight into the comments?

I can't believe google hired 100k people during the pandemic. Can you source this claim?

Of course not, because it was pulled from his ass. Google had 120k employees in 2019, and 150k in 2021. Even with churn, the OP is way off
It could still be true if Google fired 70k people. But we’d have heard of that.
Half of Googlers are temps:

so double the numbers for a sense of how many people G actually employs.

TVCs are temps, vendors, and contractors - they aren't typically considered hires. It's covering things like mat/pat leave backfill to kitchen staff.
Oh you sweet summer child

I believe you are talking about amazon hiring 100000 warehouse workers, not google
So it's not the end of the world. It really is a pretty minor set back so far.
