The answer is all of it and yes.

Probably those radioisotope thermoelectric generators used in space probes?

Not really the thing you want sitting between your legs.

The only person fixing bugs at Microsoft is Raymond Chen and he's still patching windows 3.11

Now you make me want a North Korean version of The Office

Not sure if I want it written and developed by North Korea or its enemies…

I’ve not been able to figure out if the Japanese ones will work for me so I’m always hesitant.

Make the console drink the Verification Can. I like the cut of his jib!
His job isn’t to rewrite all the code. His job is to make the market satisfied that Cisco is “more AI” than competitors.
The date picker example is perhaps the best worst they could have picked.

Anyone who has used the built in date picker knows why everyone rolls their own.

Better than 750k tests is millions of customers! They’ll test it for you!
I remember routers being Very Expensive and so realizing you could route 10mb/s with an old Pc and some 3com cards and BSD was a big deal.

Advanced new power generation technique!

Look inside, it’s boiling water to spin turbines.

Still the most compatible filesystem by far, everything can read FAT32.
Why did CAT of all companies triple on AI? What they hell are AI bulldozers going to even do?

Oh, right. The prophecy.

I’m going to be running bongcloud into ghosts only. Uthermal style.

Filtering packets with ip-options set may also help, but it seems Akami is already doing that at the edge.
Maybe it should be argued that it’s a net tax. You download the video to watch it and then you re-upload it so the tax is zero.

Just like if you buy something from the store and then return it you get all of your money back even if you actually used the item.

I don’t even use ad Block to watch the videos anymore. I simply have a frontier AI download the video to a jellyfin server first for me.
Re:Proton's CEO Cancels AI 'Re-Interviews' on Friday October 30, 2026 @04:42PM (#50309874)
More like Siri speech-to-text (tech?) which is still phenomenally bad

AI is what to tech what alcohol is to people
Re:If IPv4 Were Land on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:38PM (#50299230)
Happy eyeballs is more to fix totally broke ipv6 than speed differential.

For many years and even how there are networks that advertise they can do ipv6 and hand out real addresses but nothing works.

Re:If IPv4 Were Land on Thursday October 29, 2026 @10:34PM (#50299196)
There are cgnat provides who don’t also give you a real ipv6? Evil.

Get the LLMs playing GT:NH.
Spain will solve the problem by buying train tickets for all the pensioners.
The problem is when the modern computer-dependent system replaces the ancient one, and so then the computer is down there is nothing at all.
Some were installed. But what wasn’t there was the old mechanical ones that cannot be overridden, like ATS that blows the air if you pass a red signal.

Any failsafe that can be bypassed manually is just a deferral to humans and eventually will result in disaster.

Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @07:01PM (#50297466)
I was taking it that your bitcoin bank would have a SHTF lever that would immediately dump ALL your hot wallets into an offline cold-wallet.

Then when things calm down you go and find ... the keys under the birdbath are lost, and you're fucked in a different way.

But at least it might work.

Re:DoorDash to Acquire Instacart on Thursday October 29, 2026 @11:13AM (#50290392)
I believe only California lists "political affiliation" as a protected class.

So most states you can be fired for voting wrong.

For certain workloads compaction is great, for others you're better off manually doing a /handoff (or a similar skill you write yourself to keep what you need, toss what you don't; Claude is not always good at figuring it out).

Read your memory.md to see what Claude thinks is very important.

Re:Two high-speed trains collide near Toledo, Spain on Thursday October 29, 2026 @12:39AM (#50284640)
Also trains seem safer because even in a collision like this many survived.

Most airplane crashes lose all souls.
