Nietzsche is quite of a complex philosopher to read directly without any guide that looks at his thought holistically imho. I would recommend:

1. Walter Kaufmann’s Nietzsche, Philosopher, Psychologist, Antichrist

2. Basic writings of Nietzsche with Introduction by Peter Gay Translated and edited by Walter Kaufmann Commentary by Martin Heidegger, Albert Camus, and Gilles Deleuze

I would probably recommend reading Human All Too Human, The Gay Science and Thus Spoke Zarathustra before Beyond Good and Evil.

You kind of need to get into his train of thought to appreciate what he's getting at.

If you’d rather have a definitely-PD ePub than a probably-not-PD PDF then Standard Ebooks has a nice copy: https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/friedrich-nietzsche/beyond...

This is from Cambridge Press, copyright 2002. If it is in the public domain I don't understand why. But if it is, I want to know what other Cambridge Press titles are!

There are probably tons of other public domain books like this one available online. Any reason why this one is posted here?

if someone wants to understand the person behind his philosophy the recent biography book "I am dynamite" is really recommended.

No dogmatic POV will stay untouched in this book.

Kind of a tough medicine, but it may help you out from the depth of depression. I know Jordan Peterson refers to it in a couple of talks.

Also it is so sharp and so linked to modern identity politics.
