On the UI, I'm kinda feeling like it's not a bad thing. GitHub UI works. It's neat, most things that need to be done often are easy to find, and otherwise it gets out of my way nicely. Oh, and it doesn't break my browser (links, Back button etc). Why change it?

Bitbucket and Jira use React and are far less usable

Well, their PR software could use some serious love. I don’t use github for much else.
