Then perhaps those cases should be reported to the spec commitee to perhaps make the optimization not allowed?

They will never care about it.

The very reason C is full of UB is that no compiler vendor wanted to change their compiler dialect when ANSI C was being defined.

So every little detail that deviated from the original C compiler was marked as UB.
