the redefinition of everything to be speech under american law so that it can fall under "free speech" protections is ridiculous.

That's not what the courts have said.

Yes, I know that's not what the courts said. That was exactly my point - US law is redefining everything as speech, regardless of how a rational person who understands the meaning of words might think.
