> Determinism in this discussion means that a given person will 'behave in an expected manner'.
Oh I see. That is not what determinism means. Determinism means their actions are predestined, "determined" by the initial conditions. Computer programs - including AI - are deterministic, barring cosmic ray flips. The same inputs running in the same environment produces the same output.
Humans are or are not, depending on whether free will exists.
Either way, it's hard to draw the boundary around determinism such that it includes humans but excludes AI.
> Humans are deterministic

The problem is that the "it's not X it's Y" construction is very useful, and shows up a lot in human-written text.
a big part of why china likes renewables so much is because they have to import fossil fuels
they already are a major importer of energy

claude can storyboard and make animations using JavaScript. Opus 5.5 in particular is really good at that.

When they say cheapest, they mean cheapest new car
including petrol cars.
I have no idea why ICE cars are so pricey nowadays here.
Clojure specifically elevated the status of the reduce function because of transducers, a powerful but not very intuitive (imo) approach to composing functions.
It's very likely that no one will claim any of the cash prizes, which is funny to me

The numbers seem to support the premise that people are leaving
text-based social media.
TikTok and YouTube are still growing, while Reddit, Facebook, X and the rest are stagnant or shrinking
X was popular but never had that many users, not even back in the Twitter days. This is a big part of why Twitter was so easily acquired.
It's legit funny how often this occurs. We just like to argue it seems
What's also crucial is having your beliefs be backed by reality, and tossing away beliefs that aren't.

What's special about the fleshy brain that a digital chip cannot replicate its judgement?
I joked a while back that it was faster to vibe-code a white noise generator than to download a white-noise app.
I've since tested that theory on the Google Play Store (iOS has one built in), and it was depressingly true. The slow part was trying to find an app that didn't waste your time with ads.
It's because OpenAI starts with an O, and an O looks like a butthole?
Often think about how the most expensive part of driving in Sydney, especially in an EV, is parking.
