Absolutely incredible self preservation instinct from your colleague on behalf of their work. Like playing Russian roulette fully loaded lol

Re:So You Think You Could Be an Electrician? on Sunday October 04, 2026 @05:03PM (#49957833)
Absolutely fair, I've got joint problems, so it just wasn't working for me anymore, but glad it is for you!
Re:So You Think You Could Be an Electrician? on Sunday October 04, 2026 @04:53PM (#49957735)
Honestly as long as youre a capable person, both are viable. People will always need experienced individuals in a craft. Electricians aren't going away, but neither are devs, you'll always need people to understand things and more importantly, take responsibility for them.

Having been an electrician turned dev, friends ask me if I miss it at times and I can honestly say I don't miss being covered in rat faeces and fibreglass. Much prefer my standing desk and clean air.
Such legendary behaviour
Re:OpenDTC – Read ya Diagnostic codes with no ads n that on Saturday September 19, 2026 @02:19PM (#49768907)
I hate that manufacturers hide car DTC's behind proprietary scanners. Ive scraped codes from literally over ten (wow) scanners over the years, and now present the largest collection of open diagnostic data that you can browse yaself >:)

Open source alternative to companies like vemotion, videosoft, digital barriers. Uses QUIC under the hood, written in rust. Made with love, go easy on me
Re:Ironotes, built for me, with me in mind on Monday November 10, 2025 @07:42AM (#45875390)
I suck at taking notes, and needed an easily searchable notes app to sit on my desktop whilst I work so I can pour my ramblings into it. I has some bits that force me into good practice, like it rolls over into the next day, forcing me to start new notes. But it is easy to search so I can go back through really easily. Hope this helps someone, or not, don't really mind, just enjoy, was a great way to learn rust.

I took the feedback you all submitted a month or so ago when I first submitted the project, and I've been working tirelessly to try and implement the features requested. Don't get me wrong I have a long way to go, but it's much faster now, got the Docker image to be actually really usable, it can now be network deployed and other users can edit your diagrams. Major UX improvements, added a bunch of panning support, connectors now stay selected when you use them, hotkeys for tools.

Lmk what else is a bugbear when using this, I'm open to criticism. Love ya, -S

This is the first project I've had that's gained any traction, my todo is filling up so fast! Definitely want to make Terraform state imports a main
Hahaha yes, after popular demmand I realised my mistake
I absolutely love cloudcraft, full disclosure one of our team at work wanted to use it, but we're a public sector org(no money), so I threw this together for him
Hahahah yes so funnily enough my dad works with the IETF, and I showed him this project and he said "I was really confused why you called it that when that's a standard" Might be due a rebrand already!
It's on the list ;)
I'll add it to the todo
No you're absolutely right, isoflow is doing 90% of the work here, I'm not hiding that, they just don't have a ready to use version like this of their community pack. That's all this is.
That's a great thought, I'd need to make some kind of translation between manifests and the json, getting knowledge of those relationships might be tricky? Service discovery is another route, would hate to get someones IT department angry for aggressive port scanning though lol
Thanks! That'd definitely be interesting to look into, I'll put it on my TODO
Good to know! Thanks :)
24.3 for me, whats the issue you're getting?
Some very good points, I totally agree, I suppose as you said you get to a point in your abstraction where it either loses meaning or becomes too complex to view. I think it would be a fantastic thing to try! Go build it!
Which formats would you like to see?
Thanks! I can't take any credit at all for the icons/design that's all Isoflow, but their community edition is designed to steer you to the pro version.

No plans at all for money making, just want people to enjoy using it.

Thank you for pointing out the link, I'll get on that ;)
