Then pay them! Hosting fees are not gratis.

Re:Ask HN: What do you wish someone would build? on Saturday September 24, 2016 @03:03AM (#12569804)
Would you pay for it?
Re:Haiku Project on Friday September 23, 2016 @04:15PM (#12567624)

Re:The Age of the Superbug Is Here on Thursday September 22, 2016 @10:57AM (#12557220)
This happens in Moldova too.
I'll give signal another try, last time I couldn't register.

The problem is not the kind of democracy, those are just definitions. Is that people don't care (not about their privacy, not about earth, not about anything). And sincerely why should I care? I'm going to die in 50/60 years. I exploit others as much as I can then farewell.
Good! Time to move to telegram! And delete your facebook account! And uninstall whatsapp!

I expect nothing less from HN.

Re:What It Costs to Run Let's Encrypt on Tuesday September 20, 2016 @02:22PM (#12541916)
I'm not. I test a lot of ideas but don't have much money. I have already to pay for hosting and DNS. SSL is optional. I'm very thankful to let's encrypt for the opportunity to use SSL on my sites. Also SSL (and the web) is a broken technology, I'm not going to pay for something broken.
Re:Don’t just pardon Edward Snowden; give the man a medal on Monday September 19, 2016 @11:12AM (#12532022)
I condemn Snowden. Prove that I'm intellectually lazy.
Re:Alleged hacker Lauri Love to be extradited to US on Friday September 16, 2016 @03:32PM (#12516647)
And this is our fault as programmers. We build crappy systems.

which they already do with youtube

Re:IPv6 Wall of Shame on Thursday September 15, 2016 @03:55AM (#12504208)
And there are over a billion sites. This wall shows the most "popular" sites. I'd like to see the same for the most "popular" ISPs. Getting ISPs to implement IPv6 is important because otherwise is impossible to test your own site and see if it works over ipv6 (i've been there).
Re:IPv6 Wall of Shame on Thursday September 15, 2016 @03:21AM (#12504048)
I'm more interested in ISPs not supporting ipv6.
Re:Pardon Snowden on Wednesday September 14, 2016 @08:30AM (#12496151)
US...
It would be illegal.
I run uBlock origin and would pay for a monthly subscription.
Re:Support for Hello discontinued in Firefox 49 on Wednesday September 07, 2016 @05:51AM (#12441969)
Would you pay for it? If yes build a list of competent developers, ask them if they would build it and lunch a funding campaign. Give all the money to them and donate yourself. Building software is hard, building what you asked for is even harder.
I'm tired of this argument. My browser is not the only piece of software I'm running. I usually have virtualbox, a compiler, an IDE running. And sometimes some scripts/programs I wrote that does intensive computing on some data set.

This is what I meant, this is why I used "may". Obviously the user must know the details of how ssl works which is not many of them.

Rare cases vs daily gun deaths.
Re:SSL considered bloated on Tuesday September 06, 2016 @10:10AM (#12436106)
Just move to autralia/europe.
Re:SSL considered bloated on Tuesday September 06, 2016 @10:01AM (#12436035)
What's clickbaitish about the title? If the article is aligned with title, then the title is fine.

EV certificates help.
Re:NSA Hacked French President’s House on Monday September 05, 2016 @09:51AM (#12430288)
I'm not defending any state spying, but geopolitics is different from individual interactions. Not anticipating the moves of the other nations means risking millions of lives of people from you country. Wars, nuclear wars, economic depression, etc. It's sad but we haven't yet solved many problems to fully become a democratic Earth (e.g. distribution of knowledge, election of politics. which basically are the same problems we see in distributed computing systems).
