Ira — reminde me of the famous Ira Kane from the Evolution movie.
Have you tried to challenge Google's anti-competitive requirements in any way? Would make a case in EU.
I don't get why people accept that kind of intrusion into their own device commonly known as BYOD. If a smartphone is necessary to carry out work duties, let the employer provide one.
How do you see the not so distant future when the vast majority of banking and gov apps would require an integrity level higher thar BASIC_INTEGRITY? Which alternatives would you suggest to GrapheneOS users? A second device, perhaps?
> Banks increasingly limit features such as sending transfers or depositing cheques to their iOS and Android apps.
Not only these features. Viewing PIN, enabling bank cards for internet purchases, enabling/disabling cards.
Revolut isn't among them.
I use ProfiMail on Android. Loving the app since Symbian era. K9Mail is ok too.
Now that you have "money, legal representation and other resources to protect ourselves", will you take legal action against Google's anti-competitive practices?
How about having full access to /data? Or full system backups GrapheneOS still lacks? One might object granting root access to apps, but the device owner should at least have full FS access via adb.
The person was not charged with destruction of evidence, rather destruction of property to prevent a seizure.

To be charged with destruction of evidence, the data contained in the device has to be justified as such. It appears this was not the case, note this person was not indicted or accused of anything else too.
Chat Control and age verification belong there.
I saw this narrative before — right on the GOS discussion board, by coincidence :)
It actually depends on what are you about to protect yourself against. You don't need exceptional security preventing LE from unlocking your device if your adversary are commercial entities craving for your data to sell.
GrapheneOS believes it's nothing or everything, while the privacy is not binary.
Not everyone needs this level of security, mostly against rogue governments. I'd be happy with a GSI grade OS providing me with privacy tools to defend myself against the surveillance capitalists.
How do they intend to comply with the European CRA act then?
I've been doing it all along. Formatted texts just look well from the point of perception — same for em dashes.
GrapheneOS smearing Fairphone as not secure in 3..2..1..
I wish all smartphones were as easily repairable as Fairphone. The entire battery care stack would become unnecessary.
