Have you thought about branching out to other technologies such as fax machines, e-mails, sms messaging? I know WUPHF.com can do this magic so it can't be that hard to do.
The comparisons show a legend but the keys are all the same colour?

Is that intentional?

Re:Show HN: Multiplayer Wikipedia Racer on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @06:57PM (#29802815)
This is great! Is the source available?

A couple of suggestions:

  * Option to disable geographic location links

  * Option to disable general articles

  * Language options (include simple english)

  * Maybe an option to use the mobile version? (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/)
Minimalism code sure is nice but readability is nicer. Perhaps have a un-minified version?
This branch is 173 commits ahead of christinaa:master.
Is this something that could be self hosted in the near future?

Is this something that could possibly be self-hosted?
Re:Ubuntu Deepin Desktop Environment on Thursday April 23, 2020 @02:22AM (#22953335)
I hardly believe that anybody would use most of those environments on a daily use.
Re:Show HN: Security Advice for Regular People on Sunday March 29, 2020 @07:33PM (#22723737)
The biggest issue among my family and friends are the social engineering questions that strangers ask when on Facebook/Twitter/etc. "Hey what School did you go to as a child?", "What was your first car?". Those kind of innocent like questions that older generations just answer without thinking too much about.

That and explaining two factor authentication and password management, thankfully the latter is not much of an issue these days thanks to browser-integrated password managers like Bitwarden.

As a community trainer, I do a lot of explaining and development. I've found that simple, concise, straight-to-the-point dot points are the key to getting the message across. Perhaps have a short explanation about a topic, and the dot points explaining the fix, or helpful hints.

Definitely keeping an eye on this one and if I can contribute in any way I will.

I can admit that sometimes I don't bother with long commit messages, but this project takes the cake.

"OK", "OK but some bugs"...

Not just count the pieces but to limit the colours of the pieces would be great too!

Re:Show HN: An automatic scene switcher for Streamlabs OBS on Sunday August 25, 2019 @06:51PM (#20796152)
Nothing against the developer of the product or even the product itself, but it seems that everything is going for the subscription model. What happened to just a once-off payment and free updates?

Blocked here, probably not the best domain to host images.
I may be wrong, but they are most likely asking if there is a reporting module (KPIs?) with this product?
Re:Sandspiel – A falling sand game built in Rust and WebGL on Sunday December 16, 2018 @09:42PM (#18696567)
This is great, I love falling sand games.

The only downfall is that the Pythagorean Cup didn't work?

Re:Why I’m Using a Flip Phone on Friday July 27, 2018 @12:19AM (#17623406)
Flip phones are also generally limiting in terms of accessibility though (unless they've changed??). Using the phone as a magnifier, or text to speech comes to mind.

I think at the end of the day it comes down to the sheer willpower of using the smartphone when you need it the most.

Re:Show HN: Stories as a Service on Sunday July 22, 2018 @11:54PM (#17590472)
This is such a great idea, I really like it. For some reason, I get an error which stops me from previewing the cards.

Just a small fix required in the Attribution section of the Terms of Service page. The GitHub link is https://github.com/Just%20Comments/legalmattic I assume it should be 'JustComments' instead? Once the URL is fixed, the link leads to a non-existing project.

Another thing is the 'Contact' link has HTML inside the HREF tag.

Not being nit-picky, just something I picked up! :)

I'm not quite sure I understand the benefits of this project vs. placing a configured wpa_supplicant.conf file in /boot?

Very annoying.

I found using google cache I could read the article.

Anybody out there that could provide a PDF perhaps?

Thanks for the info! I guess you don't live in a very humid/hot area like Australia then!

OpenSCAD seems to be a great tool, are there any reference guides or tutorials you recommend to use it?

Re:LackRack on Tuesday March 21, 2017 @06:00PM (#13926664)
Hopefully this isn't a silly question, but do you have a concern about the exhaust/heat hitting the floor instead of having enough room for it to escape?
I'm not sure how this is any different than using the browsers zooming tool?
It's amazing how long I've heard this song, and I still remember what it sounds like and sing along to the lyrics!
Re:Humble Freedom Bundle (pay what you want and help charity) on Tuesday February 14, 2017 @12:59AM (#13641530)
I find it just a little bit amusing that the game 'Ellipsis' is the 'FREEDOM' edition, however it is one of the few games that aren't DRM free.
Re:Show HN: Snap a photo of your homework and get help on Tuesday January 03, 2017 @08:16PM (#13314888)
Not feedback per se, but we have a similar product here in Australia called YourTutor (http://www.yourtutor.com.au/) which most schools/libraries have on offer. So perhaps you could take on some similar ideas?

Looks like a great product, having a listing of tutors that would be helping, and possibly having times when it's available (or is it 24/7?) on the website may encourage more use.

The product you linked is called 'Teleport Pro' which allows you to do website mirroring for offline browsing.

The link that has been originally posted is a CLI based tool which has nothing to do with website mirroring.

Any reason why you chose Lumina over many of the other ones? Just curious.
Re:Show HN: Dungeons and Dragons - Too Long; Didn't Read on Monday December 19, 2016 @08:25PM (#13216560)
Thank you so much for doing this, it's great! Especially the pre-made character sheets!
