So you’re saying that fucking up 0.1% of the time is acceptable, especially when it’s inevitable? I know it’s a stretch, but we’re in an industry where the concept of “five 9’s” is the gold standard.

I wonder how smoothly things would run on three 9’s. That definitely seems where we are going.

What laptop?
What the fuck are you talking about - have you seen what data centres are doing in the West? Do you want more of that?
Yes and my partners father has been calling for a bust for the last decade and everything has simply taken off.
Re:How Claude Code works in large codebases on Friday May 15, 2026 @03:29PM (#48152802)
Seems crazy how they suggest a lightweight CLAUDE.md (shows 4 lines) but the /init command they suggest creates 100 lines of Markdown.
Re:How Claude Code works in large codebases on Friday May 15, 2026 @01:42AM (#48144958)
How important are Claude.MD files when they don’t even describe (with concrete terms) what should even go into each one?
You’re confusing the look of the device with the feel of the OS.

So AI is good for CSS? That’s fine, I always hated CSS.
Why is this comment an ad?

Can you give an example of some coding tasks? I had no idea local was that good.

We don’t do both. We spend trillions on AI.
Re:NewPipe – The lightweight YouTube experience for Android on Saturday November 04, 2023 @11:08PM (#38147694)
Any hint on how to actually do this? For those of us who are comfortable with Insidious or Newpipe.
It’s always funny to make a tongue-in-cheek joke about this, but asking for fewer thirst traps is still a legitimate request from people who click them.
This is the concept behind BAT and the Brave browser, isn’t it?
A hundred?

Andrew Huberman, the same guy who panders chewing on a rubber ball to change your “face shape”?
Mediocre citizen checking in - I would never live in the US.
I think this is more of a "target the big fish first" situation.
Re:Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System on Monday June 19, 2023 @07:05PM (#36397535)
What is there to be wary of? It won't work at all?
Re:Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System on Sunday June 18, 2023 @07:59PM (#36385771)
Do you ever notice/regret the fact that it only has 1GBe instead of 2.5?
Re:Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System on Sunday June 18, 2023 @07:43PM (#36385684)
Actually I do have an M1 Mac Mini - what's his setup? Maybe my problem is that MacOS doesn't feel as friendly for getting an entire homeland setup.

Which model Synology? I am looking into one of the dual/quad core Celeron models because I heard the iGPU is critical for any kind of transcoding.

It's not an appropriate analogy because Kia is not the victim. They are responsible for securing their vehicles appropriately.
Re:Ask HN: How can I learn large-team processes? on Wednesday June 15, 2022 @07:12PM (#31760626)
I really appreciate this answer. This is DEFINITELY the kind of reply they were hoping for, and instead, I awkwardly skipped over the details that would make it clear I know what I am doing. This gives me a good perspective, thank you!

Ask HN: How can I learn large-team processes?

I have about 10 years of full-time programming experience, however, I've always been in small development teams that use almost no tooling. Seriously, I introduced Git to these guys.I find this is a big weakness while I try to interview and move up the corporate ladder.
