Alternative, more physically feasible attack—-aliens take over the moon and begin pushing it closer, messing up tides/weather etc. Humans are forced to fight to take back the moon

What a weird comment. The ozone hole WAS a huge problem… and then the world banned CFCs and we fixed it. But it took years of lawsuits, journalism, and scientists speaking up.
Similarly, global warming is a huge problem today and threatens our future. We will fix it just like we did the ozone hole, but again it will take decades of lawsuits, science, public outcry.
The problem this time is twofold: the rise of conspiracy theorists in the Republican Party, who refuse to even acknowledge the problem, and the stranglehold that globalist neoliberal corporations have on the economy.
The second being what you meant in your last paragraph. It’s hard to actually address waste, overconsumption, and pollution when our economy and government is controlled by a handful of corps, who are getting better and better at greenwashing.

I started composting last year and combined with bottle return (takes 5 mins once a month at the grocery store) it's amazing how much waste and recycling I've been able to reduce. My next goal is all but eliminating my plastic use, through refill stores, laundry sheets (not pods!) and the like. It's not actually that hard to reduce our individual impact, just requires unlearning some wasteful habits!

30-40% of food in the U.S. is thrown out (43% of that at the household level, 40% at restaurant & grocery store level). The dissonance between this percent, 34 million food insecure Americans, and record high grocery prices is unreal. We need a serious change in both consumer behavior and grocery store & restaurant logistics/policy.

Made one recently to put Google's trending page in an extension! Loved how quick you can build and release something usable. Check it out

I wanted quick access to Google trends data, which I find is a good way to keep up with news and general current events—so I made it an extension! Maybe some of you here might enjoy this as well, feedback is welcome!

What about certificates? The fake GitHub almost certainly does not have a valid certificate. Isn’t that our one defense against these things?
