Ask HN: How does your team utilise GitHub (or other) to release?

I work within a team of four developers, soon to be seven, and it feels like we are at the size where our release process doesn't feel like it's going to "scale".Our current process is as follows:1) Branch off staging to create a "feature branch" 2) Develop on the feature branch 3) Create a Pull Request (via GitHub) between staging and the "feature branch". This automatically creates a...

Ask HN: What CRM/Single Customer View system do you use?

I'm looking for a CRM system in which we can add product-level data to a customer. (Most of the ones we have seen are only at 'deal' level).Ideally the CRM would:- - Have an REST API - Advanced ways to query our customer data - Have Automation tasksSo far, SalesForce is the only SaaS which provides the above. Any recommendations?

Anyone seen a similar implementation which doesn't need jQuery?
I've just developed a way to communicate with a Toshiba printer. http://www.toshibatec-eu.co.uk/Europe/en/products/printers/o...

I ended up using http://www.bartenderbarcodesoftware.com/ to create the stickers, intercepting the request to the printer with WireShark, then finally re-creating the request using PHP sockets.

It's not easy!

Re:Ask HN: Any good (PHP) PaaS with UK datacentres? on Friday April 11, 2014 @08:15AM (#7572408)
Nice - I'll take a look at fortrabbit. Your MYSQL Add-on pricing seems a little steep between 64mb and 512mb. Shame you do not have anything in the middle.

Shame that I have a wait to have a quick play. "Yeah! You will get a free slot in 5-7 days"

Viaduct looks promising but no pricing information.

Had a play with Layershift - Jelastic. Seems pretty good so far. Through Jelastic I am able to edit nginx configs, php-fpm configs and php.ini.
