This is called concept. Really useful service. Awesome !

Its not about the number of people liking the design, but more about the quality of people rating them. In his book, guy was targeting certain type of audience. Personally, I didn't like the design "Daisy".

and moreover, I feel you are using Guy's name here for publicity purposes.

Ask HN: Craziest thing you've done to Break the Routine?

(Assuming lot of HN users are not working for their own startup)I spend 5 days a week in office working on stuff which I sometime like and sometime don't. Spend rest of my free time with friends, family and/or working on side projects.Even after this, there are times when you feel yourself in a routine.I want to hear from you some of the CRAZIEST Ideas you've applied or want to apply to break...

I am following this site since its launch. They are doing a great job. Most of the ideas coming from there are typical startup ideas. I am trying to target slightly different group.

Thanks for the inputs. :)

Thanks for the inputs. I will keep that in mind. Targeting the right audience will be a sort of challenge for me because the idea is still untested.

Ask HN: (idea) A Blog on world's most creative hacks and side projects

I am inspired by a lot of projects posted on HN as "Weekend Hacks". Simply brilliant.I am working on a blog to list out selected projects, know about their creators and the hacks. Already contacted few hacker's regarding their project, and first article is taking shape.URL of landing page: http://hackers.li (Request you to subscribe)I do not intend to make money out of it. Focus is on...

One side-project I made: http://hnarchive.in

You can search based on users who commented.

Re:Guy who stole MacBook has been arrested on Wednesday June 01, 2011 @12:56PM (#2608148)
This is all fake. Who drives the car with Laptop Lid Open? and why the hell is he looking at the laptop.

Ok let me summarize this. A person came in the car, driving to this persons house, stole the macBook, place it in the front and I guess is browsing Google Maps to find directions. Am I right buddy?

Impressed by Samsung's reply. As per my opinion, its completely fair to ask for. I felt however, this post is bit biased towards apple.
With this attitude, they will hardly succeed. I've been through this situation in the past.

You will be blamed for 100% of the stuff going wrong on technical side, and will be given 10%. Moreover, I don't think you will be able to keep yourself motivated with this kind of attitude within the team. You won't be a considered co-founder, just a technical guy to finish thing off. Remember "Ideas are worthless".

Don't settle for 10%, not even 20%. Its not about money, but how much they value your work. Coming up with an idea is not a big deal, but execution is.

Re:The Smartest Person Project on Wednesday April 13, 2011 @03:29AM (#2441165)
Great Idea. I participated in it just for fun sake and I have to wait for it for too long. Even thats ok, but what's this:

"depending on the amount of money that we spend on this project, we may sell the results to recoup any costs. However, if we can avoid it, we will. Expect no more than $5."

I dropped a mail to GoDaddy regarding this. Here's the response from their side:

----------------------

Our Office of the President has responded to your request, details of which are described below:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion about Mr. Parsons' recent trip to Zimbabwe.

As you may be aware Mr. Parsons has also made several comments regarding this on his Vlog at BobParsons.me which you may wish to review. We hope this information will be of assistance to you in making any final determination about your relationship with GoDaddy.com.

We thank you again for your time and feedback.

Regards,

The Office of the President

Can't believe this thing. I bought a domain name just 5 minutes back, and now I am feeling disgust.

I have around 60 domains with godaddy, and after watching this I don't think I will go for any more. Let the unimportant ones expire this year, and I'll transfer the rest to somewhere else.

Can someone suggest me a good registrar?

Now Networkworld and Mr. Hassan should answer why they made such a baseless allegations?

Someone working in Security firm (NetSec Consulting) should have idea of they are saying.

Re:Samsung installs keylogger on its laptop computers on Thursday March 31, 2011 @02:13AM (#2390589)
I am trying to find "Mohamed Hassan" on Internet. Now there is a doubt in my mind that he is even a real person?
Re:The Idea Swap on Wednesday March 30, 2011 @09:48PM (#2390078)
There should be some verification/filter. Lot of users will enter just anything to see the idea.

Registration/Login will discourage users to use the site, so I recommend better filter out the ideas in backend. i.e. do not put them in the swap list unless verified.

If you think logically, why they would even do that? What can they get out of logged data. Can you give me the answer?

I think you are exaggerating this thing too much.
