That's quite surprisingly!

Interesting that blue light is enough! Sun drying clothes is the most effective way to get rid of annoying stains, as any Mediterranean parents would know (UV cleans even better than blue light!).

In Switzerland, we are expecting a fiercy battle in the next years for the access to water resources: from one side, the ski resorts that will need more and more snow to sustain their business, and from the other, the population and its need for water for industry and agriculture. I know that it sounds ridiculous, but I'm not sure the latter will win....skiing is a religious in Switzerland.

Ask HN: How do I communicate to my employer that I am pregnant?
I work for a European IT company and I am 4 months pregnant. I think it is the good moment to communicate to my employer the situation: the risky first three months have passed and there is enough time to prepare before my maternity leave of 4 months. Also, I work remotely and I meet my team once per month. During the last visit, I didn't have any belly and no one noticed anything, but now it...

I have developed the same habit and any podcast, audiobook, boyfriend reading book works for me. I fall asleep much faster if I listen to something that is not in my mother tongue. It works even when I need to do an afternoon siesta. If the episode is interesting, I re-listen it when I am completely awake.

I am not caucasian from a predominantly Caucasian European country, where we are indoctrinated to judge people by how they cook pasta, living in an even more caucasian European country when we are judged by the trash bag we used. Guess what? I live exactly like the others (I know how to cook pasta in the right way and I use the correct trash bag). Once again, I thank the divine Providence to let me born and live in Europe.

These considerations are valid also in another fields such as in computational quantum physics/chemistry. Major software are written in Fortan and in C++. I work in the ML community now, after many years of quantum chemistry and when I say that I know Fortran people usually laugh :).

Italian here. We do study at school Roman history, a lot, since 6 years old. Obviously, we are very proud and connected to that historical period. Everyone knows Cesar, Augusto, Nerone and all the other important figures of the time. Mant of us, at high school, study latin. I did a science-based high school (public school) and I studied latin literature and grammar for 5 years, 4 hours per week.

Re:The stable marriage problem and modern dating

The reality is that men profiles on online dating apps are terrible! I have tried to check for fun both male and female profiles and there are so many women with attractive pictures while men have really poorly curated profiles.... Are women naturally more attractive than men or culturally, women are "forced" to take care of themselves and show how attractive they are while this pressure does not exist for men (men have other type of pressures, like a good salary)? I do believe is the second one. As woman, I'd love to see handsome men, online and not only.
