> today it somehow executed several hundred thousand threads of a python script that made perfectly timed trades at 8:31AM on the NYSE which resulted in the largest single day drop since 1987.
Sorry do you have a link for this?
My fart has an impact on climate change too. Doesn't mean it's meaningful. Same for these models.
Crazy idea: make a browser which adds features with new versions instead of how they are currently removing them.
Yes which is why the size if strictly finite but arbitrarily large.
Oh no someone said something mean on Twitter. How ever will we survive.
The only reason why propaganda is so effective is because life is so terrible. No one bought USSR propaganda in the 60s that the US was terrible because people remembered growing up without electricity. A majority believe Russian propaganda about the US today because life expectancy in Thailand is higher.
It is left as an exercise to the reader to find a natural number which isn't arbitrarily large but calculable.
The worst thing about the new left is how lame they made being left. 30 years ago we would have had illegal raves during the lockdowns. Today we had illegal church services.
What the tuck is wrong with these people?
Or it was the only one they clild get in volume. The last 3 years have been merry he'll on supply chains.
https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Then-a-Miracle-Occurs-Co...That is more or less the state of all plans on putting llms into anything useful. I think the lack of and education of language parsing ambiguity is the main reason why so many people are buying the hype here.
>Siri call me an ambulance.
Is not a solved problem and will never be if you're using English as your input language.
My computer is very much a Turing machine since each time it runs out of disk space I can buy more disks. The fact you think a Turing machine has infinite memory rather than finite but arbitrarily large memory tells me all I need to know about the sorry state of your theoretical education.
>SQL is a practical application of relational bags.
Apart from the fact it isn't; elements have specific order and that order matters.
SQL is SQL, it's not relational algebra or whatever bastardization of it you can think up. In fact when it comes to SQL the only use relational algebra has is to tell that you that anyone talking about it has never used SQL.
The difference is that food is paid for on the free market. Government infrastructure isn't.
If your life is writing meaningless click bait, sure.
For the rest of us, not so much.
A good chuckle of my career has been breaking outncustom tools out or a database because the database can't scale.
IA is the new Excel.
Then why are all the most anti-ist people dull as dishwater and working in hr? If you have no opinions that mainstream culture finds repulsive then you're not done much thinking.
There's even a pg essay about it: http://www.paulgraham.com/say.html
Using the pigeon hole principle on these systems tells me that if I don't eventually drop all cards completely I will reach a point where the only thing I'm doing is reviewing old material. None of the algorithms I've looked into seem to acknowledge this. Is there one which throws out a card after you get it right n times?
But then those nerds can't be sexist, or racist, or translhobic, or smell bad or ... basically people want their office mates to be in the hacker space but also somehow be magically interesting.
So start one that's completely toxic to the current mainstream culture. People forget just how unpopular tech was in the 90s/00s. Or that counter cultures are always reviled by the majority.
We had that. It was called Covid. Two years later we are still dealing with the first phase of the completely predictable results rolling lock downs caused. In another 5 we will start dealing with the unpredictable ones.
Here's hoping that we're wise enough to not let reddit admits dictate world health policy again.
Radicalisation against a system you've bought into looks like terrorism. Radicalisation against a system you haven't is freedom fighting. Congratulations in getting old and selling out.
Great I can run it on my bonnet.
Sounds great, and when someone leaks the model online I can make a product on top of it without paying anyone.
I remember the exact opposite case being made 3 months ago. That art just needs to be good enough and all artists will starve. You need a human to be responsible for a piece if software to sue and imprison when it goes off the deep end if nothing else. Programmers aren't going anywhere.
Also things reddit has been doing for a decade.
Only half? That's so civilised. Inter tribal wars ended with all the men dead or in slavery, all the old women murdered and all the young women taken in as sex slaves. Same for the children too.
Hell name any war without war crimes.
