Yeah, seems like a lot of articles are written just to have a catchy title.
Re:Notion Calendar on Wednesday January 17, 2024 @12:54PM (#39031040)
Is there a calendar that can show the whole year and mark days with different colors if there are all-day events? For some reason calendar apps don't treat year view as something important which is crazy to me. I like to have an overview when planning vacations and stuff like that.
They serve a purpose.

Same could be said about headphones, yet here we are.
Heartstone is Unity, Witcher card game by CDPR may be as well.

I'm using Earasers, it actually makes music sound better and I don't have any ringing in my ears after the concert.
As an option, to rank items, you can use the amount of money that the item has earned instead of just the number of upvotes. You can even replace upvotes number in the UI as well. This way frequent meme-upvoters will have less sway over more picky users. It'd be easier to register astroturfing accounts and to promote something to the top, though.
Agreed, I wish I had more thing like this growing up.
I was a restless sleeper until I've learnt to sleep on my back. Try it for a week, it really is a superior position to sleep in.
I lift. Running is even better, if it's your jam.

I think that they should change the font, other than that it would be ideal.
Re:Composable Moderation on Monday May 01, 2023 @01:16PM (#35775981)
I guess you could create a global set of labels specifically for that and make the client apply rules corresponding with the local laws.
Re:Mastodon Is Doomed on Wednesday April 26, 2023 @01:10PM (#35716957)
Nostr solves this problem, your identity is defined by a private+public key pair, you own your account and history instead of the node admin.

But it's not a good thing. There's still an error, you're just increasing the chance to miss it.

Re:Ask HN: What key feature(s) is missing from Mastadon? on Wednesday April 19, 2023 @11:36PM (#35636068)
That you don't own your identity and history, it can be deleted on a whim of a local instance administrator. Basically that it's not Nostr, but Nostr even less popular than Mastodon.
It's hard not to recall Gabe Newell's "Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem". Steam and Spotify offer a really good service, and a lot of people find it not worth it to pirate stuff.
Intellectual property is not really a property, it's a limited time monopoly preference. If you have a chair as your property, it doesn't magically become public property in N years, it's yours forever. Because it's a real property, unlike IP.

More than that, IP is anti-property in nature, because it restricts you from using your real property, you can't use your printing press to print a book that you like.

I know that there's an argument to be made about authors wanting to eat, but that's a separate issue, it doesn't change the fact that IP is logically inconsistent and the "property" part is misleading.

Re:What do you eat for poductivity? on Friday April 14, 2023 @09:13PM (#35576750)
Eating on the same schedule, keeping the same portions and eating 4 times a day helps me. If I miss my window, I can feel my brain shutting down. Also I can't function on low carbs diet, so there's plenty of carbs in mine, but I try to exclude all things with high GI. I also eat plenty of protein rich products, but I don't think it affects my brain in any way. Works pretty good so far for me.

It's even worse when it happens when you go to bed.
Prices are high, but it's hard to find something better than M macs right now honestly.
I even exclude them from my TimeMqchine backup, they're pinned.

I don't take issue with LED bulbs, but I would rather have a choice nonetheless.

Sandboxie is great, didn't know there was a fork.

It's better than nothing.

The bigger the company, the less effective it is.
Yes, that was a great idea on OP's part.
