Well, then your key features are already implemented. So much to that
So not keeping up to users expectations - no matter how much - makes a failure?
I think your argumentation is flawed. If your server+consumer app combo can do that, do that
It hasn't really been there:
- encryption wasn't really there (and still is experimental)
- decentralization does not exist to the degree that Matrix provides it
And Matrix is fundamentally different. It works somewhat similar to git compared to XMPP being more like IRC, which results in a completely different form of decentralization.
E2EE is different as well - even if both are based on the Signal Protocol: Matrix encrypts for groups of people instead of single devices
I doubt Matrix would be where it is if they tried to bend XMPP
> Also, when people usually talk about Matrix being adopted by masses they are talking about Matrix on matrix.org (or that's my understanding which may be incorrect as well).
No idea how you got that understanding. With respect to adoption the server does not matter at all (though many consider it advantageous if it is not matrix.org)
Steps in FluffyChat:
1. Press voice button next to text box on the bottom
2. Say what you have to say
3. Press "Send"
Well, sue them if you think they stole it, and see if you are right
It's not a quality guarantee for clients in practice since you can't control Client Side with open source
Regarding Riot, which is called Element by now, you may want to update your knowledge
What key features are you talking about?
XMPP fans really lack of any honour these days
People insulting others as hypocritical for critizing something needs to stop.
May you define what you mean by "better"
What's so special about keybase?
I feel like Signal is current solution to go to if you just need easy e2ee (espexially because of its big userbase).
Otherwise it's Matrix for me as it offers "the future of messaging" (well, you wish)
Why would you want that?
It is super confusing since 1~first as well as every real life date representation I know has 1=January
ECS ist Standard for enterprise web apps as well
I use a more than 10 year old CPU and it runs just fine with Windows 10
Because it is over hyped by coin owners who want you to buy coins and make them rich
How secure is it compared to real transactions?
Will become irrelevant when Fuchsia is able to replace Linux as a drop in?
Did you watch it? I think he has a few valid points

from the youtube.com dept.
Well, there are attempts to this, e.g. Matrix.
They even show cases how you can open up an existing closed messenger:
https://matrix.org/blog/2020/12/07/gitter-now-speaks-matrixHowever, existing tech giants have little reason to do so, unless users vote with their usage (which is sabotaged by lock-in effects through the existing social networks...)
Actually wear becomes increasingly more important as DRAM caches are removed to save money.
And SSDs tend to have less write volume per unit
Since ethics has been invented for human society, there is no surprise for being averse to humans. Neither is that good or bad by nature
1. He refered to countries using humans for testing being a leap
2. Using humans for testing makes no sense bc. animals are exactly used to avoid early testing on humans
How can one claim it is ineffective when it is the most effective?
Could you expand on XMPP being over engineered?
(Just curious)
Thanks
Less than a third loose access through their current server.
They can sign up on a different server and have access again.
Someone is (supposed to) building a proper Email bridge for Matrix through GSOC.
