But GV gives you a number and handles forwarding... for free. Is porting worth $120/year?
Lame. Google Voice is free.
Perhaps it could also be argued that she doesn't use it because she understands it too well... Come on, you think that new NSA station in Utah is limited to foreign surveillance?!
Sussman must get so pissed after reading stuff like this (after he wgets the page and opens it up in his email client, that is).
I'm not going to debate absolutes, but it is patently obvious that Android is relatively more open than iOS or Windoze by such an immense margin that your statement seems, well... asinine. Could it be better? Yes, absolutely. But, given the BS business model that Microsoft has always had (which is really the same for Apple, though they are better at marketing), Android is a hippie commune by comparison.
What do you think about the prospect of Gecko?
Hence, they wrote a MATH text. Duh.
Title should be "... better at blocking malware on the steaming pile that is Windows...". Chrome/Fox are just fine on my Linux box.
I reiterate, the usage was off. I could give a fuck, honestly, about bad language. But when I cuss, it is for a fucking reason.
Get it? I didn't mask anything above with "*" . I fucking committed to it. Swear like you got a pair, or don't bother.
That is what the kiddies are into, I guess...
Yeah, the vulgarity seems off to me. I love a good curse word here and there, but you have use them wisely (or else you just sound like a jackass).
I hear you: it sucked. But no matter how much a default setting might suck, it is still a "setting", as in, it can be changed. Unity got Canonical started down a very slippery slope. I can't imagine they're dog-fooding this crap.
Yeah, Lubuntu looks promising. I'm very happy with Mint's Debian edition, but I'll have to set up a box with Lub.
Ubuntu server is still excellent.
I encourage EVERYONE to follow this phenomenal advice!!!
... and when the next tech bubble bursts, I look forward to picking up good CHEAP programmers without college degrees.
MWAH HA HA!
I switched to Linux Mint Debian Edition a while back. Cinnamon is a great desktop. Don't miss the steaming pile of Ubuntu. It was great while it lasted, but then came Unity and now they're hitting us with adverts? I don't get it. Seems like they're trying to kill demand.
Gawd. Unity, and now this garbage. Should be interesting to see how Mint does...
How do you force the socket to close after writing the response?

... maybe the FSB let them borrow one?
Argh! Beat me to it. I was gonna say "start with a $200M company and invest in Facebook IPO."
Do you run your Windows box without virus protection?
Modern cybersecurity threats generally involve (1) legions of zombie computers and (2) weak native OS security.
"No Windows = No Problem" is not an overstatement. The fact that we have nuclear power plants running on Windows in this country is abso-fucking-lutely terrifying.
Go is awesome, but why must we limit ourselves to one language?!
My dev plan used to be Python for rapid prototyping and C for speed optimization. With the advent of Go, I find I'm moving the infrastructure-level Python work into Go and replacing many of the C-oriented middleware tasks with it as well. I'm sure this will evolve as the libraries grow, but I don't see Python & C going away. Nor do I think this is the vision at Google. I suppose this is what is meant by "systems language".
I think Go could end up being the under 35-generation's version of Lisp (in terms of love affair with language structure, etc.).
Solution to 1 & 2: Make use of Windows on any Federal computer or power grid control system illegal, punishable by public whipping.
Let's call this EO what it is: erosion of privacy, redux.
This has nothing to do with political parties. This is about money. Stinks of MPAA...
Word. Given Cython, Jython, etc.... this list keeps going (I use Weka in Python).
Actually not that bad, but I think the story of production may be better.

Given the Jobs act, I'm wondering how this will all get sorted out w.r.t. blue sky laws, etc... gonna be messy and full of fraud at some point.
Either buy Apple (and accept their model of the market) or don't. Seems fair to me.
Last Apple product I bought was a gen2 iPod.
