The folks at Textualize have taken it one step further with https://github.com/Textualize/trogon

It's a neat way to make powerful CLIs more accessible to less-technical users.

If this happens to you and you're in the US, head to urgent care. There are steroid based treatments that can reduce symptoms and speed recovery.

Is there anything you check for to confirm that it is Stripe? I was deceived last week, paying for something via something that looked like an embedded Stripe payment form.
Shallow water blackout is a phenomenon that occurs when lungs expand while ascending from a deep dive. The contrast from deep to shallow is what's dangerous. Oxygen is rapidly pulled out of your bloodstream back into your lungs as they expand. It happens quickly (and unexpectedly if you're not already aware of it). Of course you can stay too long at a shallow depth, but that's a simple, predictable linear exhaustion of oxygen.

I parsed that quote differently.. the way I think they meant the phrase is– The factor of time itself is huge (no matter how you end up using it)

Re:WiFi 6 gets 1.34 Gbps on the Raspberry Pi CM4 on Tuesday December 22, 2020 @11:17PM (#25514340)
Another couple for your list–

Moving a device from Wifi to wired marginally helps all your other wifi devices. Overall it can improve performance enough to not need another access point.

Even better is PoE which can let you put an AP in places that would otherwise require an electrician to install mains power outlets. Remote power-cycle is good too, even if you already have mains power for the AP.

Good point. Early stage support for an effective intervention could prevent the need for massive resources after the problem is more widespread.

Re:AT&T Fiber in the SF Bay Area is flipping bits on Tuesday December 08, 2020 @12:30PM (#25348474)
Yes.. what he said.

But my main reason is actually the gigantic size of the residential gateway box. I mounted the ONT, UDM pro and PoE switch on a wall in a closet and the RG just took up too much space.

Re:AT&T Fiber in the SF Bay Area is flipping bits on Tuesday December 08, 2020 @12:00AM (#25342059)
Oh, there's a workaround for that.. I've unplugged my Residential Gateway and now my UniFi dream machine pro is directly connected to the ONT.

You install a CA from a jailbroken modem into a supplicant container that runs on the UDM pro. It confirms to the network that you are using "authorised" equipment for the connection and the packets flow!

Re:AT&T Fiber in the SF Bay Area is flipping bits on Monday December 07, 2020 @11:58PM (#25342038)
If you're interested or can't find it, I'll dig up a link.. but I recently unplugged my AT&T supplied residential gateway after installing a supplicant docker image on my UniFi Dream Machine Pro. It answers the authentication challenges with a reply using a CA from a jailbroken AT&T fiber modem (sourced from a guy on eBay!). I see you're no longer on AT&T fiber, but if you would use it without their gateway, know that you can!

Re:Let employees sell their equity on Thursday September 10, 2020 @11:32PM (#24438906)
I think dilution is something that makes the package deceptively complex. Subsequent rounds of funding diminish a previously healthy looking equity package.

How should you factor that into your expectations for the future of your equity package? I think that's complicated.

Does anyone ask for or receive a re-calculated salary based on the change in equity that results from dilution?

Re:Fast and flexible observability with canonical log lines on Wednesday July 31, 2019 @01:47AM (#20571964)
I searched for logfmt and found your website – https://brandur.org/logfmt

What I can't find described for logfmt is how to handle escaping special characters in the keys or values. Specifically the quotes and equals.

JSON defines this very well, but Splunk simple key=value logging formats suffer from escaping and parsing problems.

Nice. I definitely hit that problem, but never thought of that solution!
