You sound like a California politician
He's advocating using ORMs rather than writing raw SQL queries

Apparently raising a good, quality child/person isn't a respectable ambition and should instead be avoided in pursuit of the rat race know as a career... gotta love this mass damnation of mother/fatherhood!

Who are you arguing with? You don't like poverty? Neither does anyone else.

And if the metrics don't appeal to your preconceived notion of how the metrics should work, you want to change the metrics? You want metrics to not notice changes in demographics?

Re:Facebook Is Letting Job Advertisers Target Only Men on Wednesday September 19, 2018 @08:28AM (#18023664)
Why does promoting special treatment rather than fairness increase your respect for them?

Special treatment versus fairness
I wrote a collection of Dockerfiles for images running Python 2.7 or Python 3.6 + Selenium with either Chrome or Firefox and using Xvfb for the X display (necessary for running Selenium headlessly).

https://github.com/seanpianka/docker-python-xvfb-selenium-ch...

Using this, in conjunction with AWS Step Functions, Lambda, and ECS, it became merely cents a month to run a headless scraper task in the cloud.

That is a old armchair argument made from those in an ivory tower.

If it was YOUR business, you would want to control your dream, your vision -- not a bunch of rich folks who could decide to kick you out from your dream if your main goal is not to _remain profitable to the shareholders_.

A master's in _museum studies_? Why? Why in the world would you pay for that? What could the study of that possible produce?
The hard truth where sometimes our feelings _need_ to be hurt early on to save our health (despite all of this modern social acceptance of unhealthy, irresponsible people who lack the self control to put the sugar down and consume less calories daily).
Re:Report of Active Shooter at YouTube HQ on Tuesday April 03, 2018 @05:19PM (#16749390)
Consider, though, those living outside major population centers, where the police response time can be on the order of 10 to 30 (or more) minutes and there's an active shooter situation. There's very little that can be done to mitigate damage done by the shooter or prevent him from escaping in that span of time.

America's obsession with credentials at its finest... these people are allowed to have guns because we say so, but no one else! (except those pesky criminals and shooters who don't abide by laws)
Re:Report of Active Shooter at YouTube HQ on Tuesday April 03, 2018 @04:28PM (#16748773)
Is it not true? What did they do in response to an active shooter? They called the police and SWAT -- people with guns.

I agree with this argument, please continue explaining.
100% reading comprehension, great work.
Do you have any examples of this type of company? I'm a sophomore CS student looking to work in Aerospace, and this type of company, where the work is done in a self driven manner and where the work matters, that I'd love to work for.
