The last thing I heard about them was that a major key people involved in the design left the company because he stopped being paid at some point for his work on the project. I was really looking forward to buy a new VCS but I'm afraid it would probably never materialize.

The device drivers compatibility and availability on Linux these days has never been better. Even better than Windows and OS X out of the box in many cases. Seriously, there has been huge improvements in the last few years.
If you want to run Linux on a laptop and get the best experience, a Mac is not the best option. Thinkpad (business class X and T series) is what you are looking for.

I think we're still at a the very early stage of the crypto-currencies. Something like at the point when just a few geeks were surfing the Internet in 1994 with a 486 PC running Windows 3.11 and a 14.4 bps modem. So there's still a lot of room for the market cap to grow IMHO.

I purchased a different bluetooth speaker from them - https://www.anker.com/products/A3102011 and I really like it too. I use this speaker at home in the kitchen and it's amazing how well it sounds for a 35$ gizmo.
