Show HN: YC Network Search – Use natural language to find YC people

https://sena.so/directories/yc-network

Last month I spent three hours looking for YC founders who’d built developer tools. I checked LinkedIn. Scrolled through W21, S21, W22 batch pages. Googled “YC developer tools founders.” Spent hours and found two relevant people. Ugh.This happens constantly when you’re trying to connect with the right founders. You know exactly who you need to talk to, you just can’t find them.So I scraped...

Show HN: Timeback Profiles – Meet the GitHub-Inspired Workday Dashboard

https://timeback.so/recmend

Hello HN community,I've been working on a project called Timeback, designed to provide insights into how we spend our time at work, with a specific emphasis on meeting analytics. The genesis of this project was a simple question: "Where does my time go during the workday?" And I realized there was a lack of tools providing clear, actionable answers backed by data. The first step, Timeback...

Why did you post your rant on medium?
I hear you clear from your short response :) Other than time, What's the next hardest thing?

Don't spend on growth (user acquisition + talent) unless you've nailed the product market fit // retention.

Re:Ask HN: What's your favorite tech talk? on Tuesday October 04, 2016 @09:49PM (#12641078)
People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it by Simon Sinek https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_insp...
1. You should work on acquiring customers / beta signups while building MVP, it should be parallel not serial. 2. Have you done any validations that it's a important problem for your customers i.e. vitamins vs painkiller 3. You shouldn't be worried about a YC competitor. Focus on building, talking to customers and growth.
Re:Ask HN: How do you define a junior developer? on Thursday September 22, 2016 @12:19PM (#12557915)
A good senior developer is proficient in more than one languages, knows or figures out quickly the pros and cons of any technology. They have both depth knowledge in certain part of the development stack and breadth overall.

Assessing seniority by just number of years of experience, or knowing a hot technology doesn't make one a senior developer. A solid Aptitude + Attitude towards software development will make you a stronger developer, and that will also help you pick up any new tools, needed to get the job done!

Good Luck!

Sometimes it's better to invest in yourself, if your current role is helping your grow. You want to make sure, you're not only enjoying your current role but you'll be more marketable as well if you continue.
Re:Ask HN: How to Grow Your Site? on Tuesday September 20, 2016 @03:08PM (#12542338)
No silver bullet. I've built a community site to help operators build and grow their startups (https://www.joinradium.com/posts/tagged/growth). You can check out the growth category and I'm sure you'll find great content on how to grow your business.

Re:Ask HN: How do you read? on Tuesday September 20, 2016 @02:34PM (#12542010)
I like to read books in hard-copy format and take notes on stuff I liked. Usually my notes are not more than two pages per book and sometimes refer these notes when needed. I try to read one book per month.
Thinking of taking a stab at this problem. Now taking feedback on www.meetnucleus.com.
Do not worry about things that you don't control. Our job as innovators is to find opportunities that we believe in and give our best, independent of the outcome. Moreover, Tech giants cannot focus and move as fast as a tiny startup.
