We can't measure that evolutionary advantage.

Saying I am lucky downplays my hardwork which I put through the university. I hope are you aware of my investment or commitment to studies which got me here

Ask HN: App for which singer you sound like

So I sang a song and there was huge debate in my friend circle what singer I sound like. Now, I want an app which decidesSurely, it's possible with some AI or machine learning? Yes or No?Anyone working on this? Or can tell me what can be used to make such an app.

Is any big company willing to pull from FB ad platform on grounds of privacy/ethics? I doubt even Apple, so called Epitome of Privacy can afford that.

Is there any organization where you can pledge to stay out of FB? I'll consider buying my products from Members of such organization.

I wonder if it's legal to use Jet turbine in my car to produce extra acceleration for overtaking during commute.

I get paid 250K EUR in Geneva for writing deadbeat Scala code for Banks. I doubt anyone can match that in Europe

I am straight out of ETH Zurich so my experience is negligible.

It's not true.

Think of Dropbox or Instagram or even Amazon

What's there which technologically can't be replicated given enough money?

It's the userbase/network effect which can't be reflected if given

Very common specially now, many companies have popped up which charge competitive rates for development.

Keep in mind, most startups are simply CRUD apps where you don't need much technology.

Re:The sharing economy was always a scam on Friday March 08, 2019 @02:13AM (#19335750)
People forget that sharing economy always existed in some form

You ask your friend to drop you off at the work or your sister to babysit your son, it's all sharing.

I can argue such kind of sharing (without cash) puts other people at disadvantages who don't have friends or family maybe due to some disability.

Now even those people can hail a ride on Uber.

What's wrong with it? I don't need to maintain a list of friends which worsens my anexeity/depression, I simply pay and I am happy.

I can see why people who have social circle to maintain such favours will not like this because now a lonely soul can get same level of service from others around him.

Some party will always be at loss and market will decide which one.
