Yet people can't wait to jump to ios which does the same and worse. Google cutting out windows platform from their app development which seems like its more intentions than just cost cutting. Microsoft is doing everything it can these days and all people do is talk smack about their past.
Re:VLC maintainer has refused “several tens of millions of Euro”

VLC hasn't done much to improve picture quality. An mpc and madvr combination easily trumps it and yet you want to donate to this cookie cutter program to only maintain but not make it better? MPC was on the verge of being stopped of development until few people made the effort to volunteer and contribute to code.

I don't think this is how businesses work. Its like trying to get a teacher to not teach a certain lesson because you don't want to learn it. Aren't they paying you to do a job? Not the other way around. If you have problems adapting they might consider someone else who'd do your job instead, is it worth putting your career at risk because youre not comfortable with change?

the police are involved because they have been asked to be involved. Do you think police only act on their own all the time? They provide a service and this one involves people violating law

Its a pay per view for the broadcasters in the form of subscriptions. While I don't support this kind of activity I can see the damages done to a business if they are robbed of their audience. Broadcasters pay to have the show on their channel, why should they not be bothered when they are about to lose potential numbers because people have already seen the show before they air it? Viewers count is very important in this business.

actually that wouldn't be a bad idea considering they get $ worth of money from our data. That way people join the service too and they can mine more.
Re:The future of MPC-HC

Approach to vlc is that word of mouth gave it significant market share while mpc had a boring interface when everyone wanted to migrate with a player with colors and better UI at the time (WinXP design). VLC was to video players what chrome is to internet browsers.

I really hope MPC and madvr move to Media foundation. That is the future or anybody else who makes their equivalent or better media foundation alternative gets my money.

I doubt it. Mpc according to many on doom9 and other video player forums in combination with madvr filters provided objectively better quality frames. They post side by side comparison pictures in high resolution and mpc comes out as a better choice if you care about picture quality. Also about performance I don't think mpc is as bloated as vlc is and recall many having complaints of vlc using a lot of ram and cpu whereas mpc seems pretty lightweight. I can't stress enough how much vlc is losing out on not having madvr equivalent add on type to enhance picture quality though, the hardware utilization to push out the perfect pixel is nuts, not to mention built in smooth motion

I really want to use mpdn because it uses WMF but I haven't gotten results with it like I have using MPC-HC and madvr. Anybody know any other program that's as advance as mpc, compatible with madvr and uses Windows media foundation over directshow?

Re:Core I9 and X299 Are a Rushed Mess – Linus Tech Tips
on Sunday June 04, 2017 @05:08AM (#14480479)
Its common sense. Source or not do you really think Intel would have introduced a new line of products if it weren't for AMD? The price cuts also seem to be reflecting that. Intel just arent as innovative as they used to be and it seems that they are now trying the adapt to situations so they arent at a disadvantage. Linus makes honest videos, and his opinion sure might not be everyones cup of tea but atleast he isnt afraid to bring attention to the elephant in the room.
