What a b_ll_x reply to a sensible comment.

Mate, the personal website url you list in your HN profile don't work.

Funny that this is about frontend.

Re:ECMAScript 2018: final feature set on Saturday February 03, 2018 @04:20PM (#16299717)
Funny how the "final feature set for 2018" is nailed near enough Feb 2018.

Call me stupid, when I'll get whiteboard tested on these shiny new concepts, but I really don't (and you shouldn't also) give a rats ass about all of this.

Re:Philip K. Dick and the Fake Humans on Saturday January 27, 2018 @06:00PM (#16248602)
"In his novels Dick was interested in seeing how people react when their reality starts to break down. A world in which the real commingles with the fake, so that no one can tell where the one ends and the other begins, is ripe for paranoia."

Reminds me of the recent Hawaii false missile alert.

Thanks for the clarification.
Was that a downvote? For asking a question? Jeez.
"write a short program that checks if a file is a prime number."

What do you mean? I tried googling but failed.

These are one kind of HN posts that drive me up the wall.

You say less power to get us to buy more?

How about saving all that energy and using it for real world building.

Re:Python decorators they don't tell you about on Sunday January 07, 2018 @02:55PM (#16092336)
Mate, you've got some broken images on your homepage.
Re:Python decorators they don't tell you about on Sunday January 07, 2018 @02:28PM (#16092176)
I've been exposed to decorators (starting with Java) and have 'gotten' them and I will proudly admit that I despise decorators and don't think they are great at all.

Re:Fitbit Firmware Modifications and Data Extraction [video] on Sunday December 31, 2017 @07:13AM (#16040304)
There once was Pebble.

You could write dev apps in a straightforward easy to program no lock-in no review workflow.

And then guess who buys them out and flushes all that dev goodness in the toilet?

Yes, fitbit.

Watched all the video.

Really Great.

Thank you!

The sites are not "responsive".

This particular site starts with a relatively small font and not responsive which I'm sure makes it a pain to use on small displays.

"and were all concluding a week's worth of meetings where everyone was getting face time with collaborators and hashing out in person what we're doing for the next 6 months."

Yeah, maybe you should concentrate on the week ahead.

Mozilla is 10% share (and going down) on desktop, near 0% on mobile/tablet.

We must have an alternative to Google, Microsoft and Apple.

All the heads who were responsible for this gaff should be let go and go to Google/Microsoft/Apple, they will do well there with like minded suits.

I stopped reading after this:

  let modifiedArr = arr.map(element => element * 10);
  console.log(modifiedArr);
  Cool right :)
...

  let modifiedAarr = arr.filter((element, index) => element%2 == 0)
  Hope you got it. And don’t forgot to notice, only the first parameter is mandatory. Other two parameters are optional.

Dude, you think this Amazon Cloud Service will still be active when the messages are received?

More important, will the device battery still be charged when it gets a response back?

Re:Infinitown – A WebGL Experiment on Tuesday November 28, 2017 @05:07AM (#15795859)
Yes, simple collison detection is available out of the box but I can imagine many "corner" cases that would fail and getting ghost vehicles passing through each other.
Re:Infinitown – A WebGL Experiment on Tuesday November 28, 2017 @04:18AM (#15795615)
Nice work!

I notice that the vehicles start and stop, whats the logic?

Is it doing collison testing?

Anyone seen any instances where it fails and vehicles collide?

Re:Ubuntu 17.10: Return of the Gnome on Tuesday November 28, 2017 @03:35AM (#15795419)
Yes, I've used xubuntu for the past years, not just because everything "just works" at the right minimal level for me but also for it's lightness and performance.
