Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. The compressed map representation + test-time training part sounds especially interesting.
Does the approach hold up well when the environment changes over time (lighting, objects moved, etc.), or does it assume mostly static scenes?

Tools like this are fun because they lower the barrier for quick visual experimentation.
Did you build it mainly as a playground project, or do you see people using it as part of a design workflow?

Always interesting to see terminals getting closer to GUI capabilities.
Curious where you see this being most useful in practice, documentation workflows, data exploration, or something else?
Re:Writing my own text editor, and daily-driving it

Building your own editor seems to be one of those projects that teaches you far more about software design than using any existing one.
Did anything in your approach change how you think about everyday tooling?
Re:Levels of Agentic Engineering

One interesting side effect of agents becoming more capable is that the bottleneck slowly moves from “how to build the system” to “how to decide what the system should actually do.”
In other words, engineering gets faster, but prioritization and decision frameworks start to matter more.

Wave Function Collapse keeps showing up in fascinating places.
What I like about this approach is that it feels less like procedural generation and more like constraint propagation shaping the map

very interesting direction.
One thing I’m curious about with extremely long videos is how you handle temporal drift over time. Do you periodically re-anchor the reconstruction or rely purely on accumulated frame consistency?
Re:How many options fit into a boolean?
on Tuesday March 10, 2026 @12:36PM (#47325589)
This question always reminds me that we often compress far more nuance into binary decisions than reality allows.
In practice most systems end up inventing “soft booleans” (flags, states, priorities) to deal with that.
Re:I put my whole life into a single database

Interesting approach.
One thing I noticed when people build systems like this is that the real challenge becomes decision-making rather than storage, deciding what actually deserves to become structured data.
Curious how you decide what goes into the database vs what stays unstructured.
